One year (maybe last?), things became so pathetic around here, people were actually calling corporate asking about their holiday schedule to speculate on a beta release. It made me step away from this thread for awhile actually.
It was the run up to Independence Day this year, while we were waiting for a beta. Yeah, it was not a pretty sight, even for this speculation thread.

Haha. My argument wouldn't be based on whether or not Apple is closed, but on whether or not the person claiming to know that Apple is closed has any more proof than speculation based on previous years of Apple's holiday schedule. Schedule can change and just because Apple has previously given the Thanksgiving week off does not mean that they have done so in 2018.

I don't pretend to know for sure because I don't work at Apple HQ nor do I know anyone who does. It's fun to guess though I suppose.
I personally know people in Apple's legal department. HQ is closed for the week.

So nothing till the week after thanks giving?

Good bet. But Apple has continuously defied expectations over the last 18 months (since iOS 11 debuted at WWDC 2017). This is a minor release and Apple may decide that even though the lawyers are home munching turkey legs, they have enough call center and engineering staff on hand to deal with any crisis.
