So far this has been smooth. Performance wise it’s more consistent. Battery drain seems better. Messages have contact photos. Regular texts are now being forwarded to my iPad Pro again.

only problem: if you travel in and out of no service areas. The phone seems to now get stuck randomly on No Service until you do something. It doesn’t auto scan when you’re back in a signal area.

I saw this bug two times while traveling the NYC subways to my home. I’ll see if I can reproduce tomorrow. But just a note.

I’ll test my Bluetooth bug as well.

XS Max.

Bluetooth issue not fixed. But it’s not as frequent as before.

Signal issue didn’t appear today.

Battery life and performance is definitely improved on this beta.

Running 13.1 PB4 on IPP 12.9 G2
Running 12.4.1 on IPP 11.

Same Mail setup on each.
The badge count on the PB4 does not always match the badge count on the 12.4.1
Reading messages on 12.4.1 will not update Messages on PB4. (Reported)

Battery life so far on PB4 appears to be unchanged.

No. There will be a GM seed without the 'a' at the end of the build number.
Doubtful. There typically is no "GM" for x.1 releases. Plus tomorrow being Friday, the release coming Tuesday, and the fact that they moved it up by a week its unlikely there will be another release until Tuesdays final. Also the 'a' at the end doesnt really affect anything. It is simply a notifier of a compile version of a build revision. They will drop the 5 and the end letter on a final as a matter of naming convention. So if beta 4 is the release build for example, then 17A5844a will become 17A844 as the final release version.

Performance is definitely the highlight of this beta. Launching apps now feel unreal.

Health app has steadily been improved as well.

Some features are pushed back till *Coming later this fall.

Image Capture API
The Image Capture API lets you import photos directly into an app when a camera is connected to your iOS device.*

HomeKit-enabled routers
Enabled routers bring an extra layer of security to your smart home. Use the Home app to control which services your HomeKit accessories can communicate with in your network and on the internet.*

HomePod and AirPlay 2-enabled speakers in scenes and automations
Access songs, playlists, and radio stations with Apple Music.*

Audio Sharing
Pair two sets of AirPods to one iPhone and enjoy the same song or movie along with a friend.*

iCloud Drive folder sharing
Share folders with friends, family, and colleagues in iCloud Drive. You can even give them access for adding their own files.*

Communication limits
Control who your children can communicate with — and who can communicate with them — throughout the day and during downtime.*

That is quite a substantial part of the keynote that didn’t even make it to 13.1.

I am on 13.1 Latest PB

I guess the next drop would be a GM build of 13.1? or is the one from last night already the GM?

I want to get off the beta track (but remain on 13.1) so wondering abt the right time to remove the beta profile?

iOS 13.1 will be released to all on Tuesday, 24 Sep, so you can remove the beta profile any time before then. You can count the latest beta 4 as a GM equivalent. 😉

I'm expecting another build.

Don't worry about the profile. Just remove it once it goes GM. If you remove it now, and another build drops, you'll be stuck on Beta 3 until 13.1 is released to the public.

With iOS 13.1 going public on 24 Sep, another build before then is unlikely.

A lot missing and late and borked and just odd throughout the whole iOS 13 and Catalina beta and release cycle.

Expect in time that we will learn why Apple has had so many issues this year. For such a well-resourced company, it all seems rather iffy, as if there have been major tech or management hurdles that have been difficult to cross.

Mail app is still buggy. For example sometimes when replying to an email the buttons above the keyboard for adding attachments etc are missing.

Or something close to it as the actual release might be a few builds newer.
They will remove all beta resources and hence probably change build number. Most likely nothing else, but one can only speculate.

Stupid question:

Can I download the iOS 13 developer beta profile from the same place that I got it from originally and have it work with my new iPhone 11 Pro, or do I need to install an iPhone 11-specific new profile?

I want to install the latest iOS 13.1 developer beta on my iPhone 11 Pro and am totally blanking on whether that’ll work or not.

Yes - thats how I did it, just load the profile on the 11 Pro, update to 13.1b4 - then delete all content/settings and restore directly or via iCloud backup

So, when I install the “generic” iOS 13 Developer Beta Profile (that I got months ago) onto a fresh iOS 11 Pro...it’ll automatically show that iOS 13.1 Beta 4 will be available to install?

The MacRumors forum theme is borked when you select the dark one (while on light mode in iOS), back out and back into Safari. It turns into a mix of light/dark. Only way to fix is reload the page.

This is, by all means, the build that gets released next tuesday.

You know you can still get to it though, right? You have to access it from the Watch itself (the customize face function that you invoke by long pressing the screen; scroll all the way to the right to the "New" button and then select the Meridian face from the alphabetic list of faces)
This deserves double likes - thank you!

Currently on this beta, what’s the score with the iPhone 11 arriving tomorrow. Will I be able to restore my current iPhone (13.1) onto the new iPhone 11 out of the box?
You’ve probably found out by now; no, not via iCloud. It came with 13.0

I had to set up as a new phone. Re-register for beta program, update to beta 13.1, reset and restore from iCloud backup.

Yup

I updated from iOS 13.0 beta 8 to this new 13.1 beta 4 and i wouldn't say it's as smooth as it was before.
On 13.08 b8 i only had two bugs - photos app was crashing and keyboard in the instagram app was invisible and both of them are fixed in this beta.
But still, it's def not as smooth. Scrolling in apps, scrolling on the home screen, accessing control center, 3D/haptic touching on the volume slider (or any other) in control center and closing it stutters. I wouldn't say it's annoying but it's visible.
Apps open as fast as on 13.0 b8. I don't see any major difference.
The only thing i hate is that annoying lag with touch input. For example, when i 3D Touch on the volume slider in the control center and i want to close it, i have to double tap anywhere to close it because the first tap is not registered. It for sure wasn't like that in 13.0 b8.
If this is the "GM" version that they are releasing next week then i'm not satisfied. I wish they released another beta that would make it a little bit smoother.
I use an iPhone X.
