iPhone iOS 13 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

No issues. And I use GPS daily. Make sure you got WiFi on.

I’m having a weird issue with Sim and eSim on iOS 13.0 beta 2.

I have a European SIM card (physical card) it is turned off in carrier. Yet I’m getting info sms text messages from them.

When trying to send a sms text message using an existing sms I get an error saying to send it on my local carrier.

The text messages are from 400-904-254

I thought it was phishing, but the actual phone number in the sms text message is for my EU carrier.

question about microsoft exchange if you go to settings and at bottom and select Fetch New Data and then select on exchange does your phone freeze up ? Also it doesnt delete it from the server when you delete it on your phone
 
anyone using a mybook nas and the files app? i can access and see the files of my tv show folder but when i open my movies folder i get a error saying content not available for unknown reason.

in fact i also have an issue with the documents app on the files app. i see my content for a second but then it disappears. i assume these are bugs?

Definitely got the same issues on XS max beta 2. It works sometimes then mostly about 95% of the time if I’m not using directions that’s what happens. Only happens on the dashboard though, so if you’re in the full app that doesn’t happen. Of course one bug fix leads to more bugs but I’m sure by beta 3 (public beta 1) it’ll be fixed. Just make sure to report it so it does get fixed by then.

Thanks i did report it, just wasn't sure if it might be just me as I have heard of GPS issues with some Iphone X's and mine has always been a bit iffy, just much more pronounced now with IOS13.
In my case happens whether i am using directions or just driving with the maps/waze app open. I'd say about 70% of the time since install, before it would happen less often.

You have this issue also?

Once I'm inside the app I see normal names but the preview and message inbox will show nicknames.

Another bug I've found is that when "type to siri" is enabled "hey siri" gets disabled. When it's enabled "hey siri" pulls up the "type to siri" UI.
 
Did anybody notice this during the keynote? I wonder if we should be expecting to see traffic light status in Apple maps or red light cameras. I haven’t seen anybody talk about this feature. o_O

VoLTE calling problems makes this the 1st non usable beta for me. I might roll back to iOS 12 if Apple doesn’t drop new beta next Monday.

Is that showing the actual traffic light status or just that there's a traffic light there?

I did notice more traffic light audio prompts which is appreciated.
 
For anyone who has the iPhone X, how’s your battery life on this beta?

I’ve had to charge mine multiple times during the day due to the extensive battery drain, and my iPhone’s battery health is sitting at 88%.

Overall it’s a much more fluid beta than the first so I don’t have much complaints, but was curious if anyone else was experiencing what I have on the X.
 
This isn’t really a bug complaint/post but I love love love the ability to download files on safari on the iPad. Because of that I’m able to transfer songs from one Spotify account to another. On iOS 12 I couldn’t download anything locally. All it took was download the exported JSON file and import it into my new account. All songs are being imported now. :)

iPadOS is performing really well for an early beta. Battery life is good, too.

Yep, same situation here. My battery health is at 98%. Was 99 before upgrading to this beta. I’m only having to charge once during the day, which I never did with iOS 12. It doesn’t overheat, which I’m thankful for. I’ll take a battery drain over excessive heating any day.

Is anyone else having difficulty getting external storage devices to be recognized/show up in the Files app on b2? I was able to connect a Samsung T5 USC-C SSD with no problems whatsoever on b1 but can't get it to show up since updating to b2???? Sorry if I have missed this elsewhere...I scoured the thread for quite some time before posting...

My phone froze up just from tapping the screen on the push/fetch page.

Yes me too. Since beta 2 the files app doesn’t see either of my two external drives. I’ve tried two different hubs as well but not working. It was working fine in beta 1

Mine easily last whole day, more less same as iOS 12 ( prob little better on iOS 13 with dark theme).
Battery health is 96%.

However I am having issue with adguard pro having ridiculous background usage.

It will show you all traffic light locations along a planned route. This then ties in to the new Siri prompts allowing it to say, "turn left at the next light"...

no issues with GPS on my XR. Friend had some problems with GPS, but we found out that it was because of iphone case which he was using.
 
There are definitely more haptics on the 6s vs iOS 12 (when moving apps for example, though this is the only one I've noticed) this is a nice touch and makes it feel a bit more like newer haptic engine devices

Alright, so I've been experimenting a bit more with this situation...thanks for confirming you were having a problem too! I tried re-formatting my drive several times and the Files app now seems to recognize the drive when I format it to either MS-DOS (Fat) or ExFat...but it will no longer recognize it when formatted as Mac OS Extended...that seems to have been broken by b2 as I was off to the races with it formatted that way on b1...give it a try if you want to see if you can duplicate the result
