Hi to all, can someone confirm if it has a big battery drain on iPhone 7 Plus beta 2?
After a week on b2 I started to have big big battery drain, in 6 ours 100% to 0 and the battery is new.

This might have been mentioned, but the shortcut to delete all emails in the mail app, (selecting one and tapping edit while holding down the selected message) no longer works in iOS 13

So downloaded make Siri voice and was playing with it and suddenly it switched to the female voice. Reopened settings and it made me install male voice. Anyone else?

Also anyone having issues with sling TV app? Crashes anytime I pick something to watch but was working before beta 3

Guys, I don’t know if you realized it, but I kind of like the new behavior of 3D Touch on the home screen. If you press then move your finger downward, it quickly enters into app wiggle mode. I thought it was actually a nice touch. This works if you do haptic touch as well, but it’s much quicker the 3D Touch way. I’m attaching a gif showing exactly what it does. I wouldn’t be too upset if 3D Touch stayed this way, because I didn’t really press and drag when using 3D Touch on the home screen. It’s easy to get a force press on an icon then let go to invoke the 3D Touch menu, in my opinion.
This is my favorite thing so far!!

1. The 7 and 7 plus didn’t even get beta 3 so you’re on the wrong thread. :p

2. On my 7 plus I haven’t gotten the best battery life if that answers your question.

Thanks for taking the time. I mean inside the apps. For photos and profiles on Instagram and link on Twitter.
Plus how dark mode looks on Insta?

long time viewer, but not a commenter here.

Was reading this thread and others last week and was a bit apprehensive about putting the public beta on my daily xs. Monzo being reported as not working, along with a few other things was putting me off.

However, i took the plunge, and apart from a few wee annoyances (that can be worked around), i'm liking ios13.

dark mode is great - hopefully it'll work on everything on the phone come the full release, and not just some stuff. maybe this is down to individual developers to implement in their apps?

monzo works absolute fine for me, as does the halifax banking app. In fact, there is NOTHING that doesn't work for me ( i don't use carplay so can't comment on the last few posts.)

Whatsapp displays messages a bit funny sometimes, spotify randomly stops, and the keyboard doesn't show in emails sometimes - but all easily fixed by closing the app and then going back in again. Silent mode doesn't let you change the volume - so if you need to set an alarm volume, do it first and then put silent mode on.

The only pain in the arse i've had so far is trying to move a ringtone from my mac to the phone - it simply doesn't appear. Not sure if this is just a general issue and nothing to do with the beta.

Anyway - if you're undecided on whether to do it or not because it's buggy - of course it will be buggy, but it's nothing that is showstopping IMO.

Same here!

My car play isn’t working in my 2018 2500 HD either. It was in beta 2.

Yes mine quit working on beta 3 on my 2018 2500 HD. It worked fine on beta 2 though.
Carplay does not seem to be working on any GM vehicle with beta 3.

Few things since I have downloaded the beta.
- Shouldn't the new wallpapers change colour as the day changes? It isn't.
- Making a shortcut e.g. Timer for 20 minutes doesn't work, just loads then says error.
- Can't access cellular options at all, just a black screen.

This is actually really undesirable behavior on iPad because there's now currently no way to drag something into multitasking from the home screen because of it. Previously if you moved an icon quickly without going into wiggle mode you could tap another to start the app, then drop the first one to go into multitasking. Now, because we go directly to wiggle mode tapping another icon just builds a stack. I have Feedback open on this.
Bringing an app that’s not in the dock (or is in a folder in the dock) into multitasking is not a great experience. I’m not exactly sure how to make it one though.

I found it initially quite challenging but I think it's because it goes against what we've been taught for a decade. That multi-touch means "multiple fingers on one hand", whereas this really demands two hands (it can be done using one but trailing that first icon on what's probably your "favorite" finger then using another genuinely does feel like an awkward experience to me and makes it much more likely you'll drag over something you didn't intend to).

I genuinely think we're going to have consider more complex, multi-hand touch scenarios to really unlock iPad. I have the keyboard attached most of the time so simply starting my first app, involving spotlight with command + space and dragging over the second app (currently broken, but known and in release notes) is my go-to multitasking flow. It's simple but it's two stage and it's never been possible without a keyboard attached. I remember years ago (maybe iOS 8 or 9?) we had a separate gesture to invoke Spotlight while in-app - a short swipe down from the top - but it seemed very unpopular and difficult for some people to invoke it and I think it disappeared after one release. Even if it, or something like it, came back it still doesn't solve the issue for the "opportunistic multitasker" who decides they want to invoke it from the home screen.

I guess the gist of the wall of text above is that we're running out of distinct edge-based and one-handed gestures, and I think we may have to use and internalize more complex multi-hand scenarios if iPadOS is truly going to distinguish itself from iOS.

Guys how language changing works on iPhones with home button? On newer iPhones I know that the emoji selector is on a separate place from the globe. Thanks

Yes, because it's much easier now......edit/select all/delete, only it doesn't work properly yet :)

I wish the wallpaper had the daytime sequence I think you’re referring to (like the Mac). But it doesn’t have this (yet).

There’s a lot of stuff not working properly in Shortcuts. I have a 14 action Shortcut that ran fine for the first 2 betas and doesn’t anymore. It just crashes. You should file a bug report on your issue using the Feedback app.

The cellular options issue you speak of is, obviously, a serious issue (this is, after all, a phone!). You should report that ASAP and then monitor the Inbox on the Feedback app for requests from Apple engineers for additional data. I think its pretty likely they will request that and fairly quickly (unless they are already aware via their own testing and the next beta has a fix already in place).

Try turning off Bold text and try it again.

Wow. That’s quite an unusual fix. Kudos if you figured that one out .

That was one of the first things I tried — figuring that it directly affected the display... and the fact that CarPlay is basically just an alternate display for the phone... but in my case, it didn't seem to make a difference... for those for whom it did resolve the issue, good on ya... sadly, I am still mostly hit-and-miss with CarPlay on my Alpine head unit.

You are a genius! I just turned off Bold Text in Settings, Accessibility, Display and Text Size and now my CarPlay works again in my 2019 GMC Acadia. Thank you for that suggestion.

IKEv2 VPN-tunnels are still completely borked and useless. I filed a report myself today as I can't seem to find it listed as a known issue in the release notes. When using IKEv2 various traffic just doesn't work, and the connection drops and re-establishes a lot. Changing to IPSec (IKEv1) and everything is working as expected. On iOS 12.3.2 there are no such issues.

I am having the same issue but with an interesting twist. My primary vpn is NORD and using IKEv2 with NORD on the 13 beta is completely useless. No data goes through. But if I use VPN-Unlimited also IKEv2 it works just fine. I suspect the issue is with certain encryption settings as IKEv2 can be configured with various depths/modes of encryption. OPENVPN also works, though much slower than IKEv2

This is so annoying. All of the sudden the Private Browsing Button is missing. I can open a private tab if I 3D touch Safari from the Home screen. But since the Private button missing, I can’t go back to regular tabs. I have to 3D Touch again from the Home screen to open a regular tab. This is making it hard to watch porn.
