Can anyone do a test for me?

The beta 4 of iOS 13 implements a new haptic touch menu inside accessibility options. I believe the touch duration is set by default to "fast".

Does it make the long press duration quicker inside apps like Safari?
Currently in iOS 12, long pressing a link takes an eternity to show the context menu. Is it faster in iOS 13?

Yes it’s fast. Takes 2 seconds if that helps.

About a week ago I was not able to send group messages to android phones and now I’m not even able to send messages without an error. Anyone else having this issue?

Ok , after updating my phone to iOS 13 beta 4 and my watch to os6 I’ve noticed my speaker on my watch has completely stoped working , there’s no sound from Siri , or even when I use it to make calls , they can hear me but I can’t hear them , has this happened to anybody else ?

Is it intentional for the share sheet to not be dark even when in dark mode? All the options are still in white bubbles with blue text?

I’m hoping this hasn’t already been answered but I’m fairly sure I’ve covered all 29 pages of this post so far.
Does anyone know if the esim and physical sim thing is fixed yet?
Ie both lines and data working properly in the Beta?

Thanks.

See this reply over in another thread:
No, before I saw only the eSIM line. The physical SIM didn't show, and couldn't be selected when placing a call. This all works as expected now.

I have a shortcut that in order to run it, I have to run it from a specific page in Safari, so in IOS 12 from the share button I choose shortcuts navigated to that shortcut and ran it. In IOS 13 beta 4 there does not seem that the icon to choose and run shortcut is present and it can’t be added. I have the “run untrusted shortcuts” button turned on. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

2 seconds?

I think it's the same as iOS 12 then.

I've just tested here (iOS 12) and looks like it takes 2 seconds too.

2 sec seems a bit stretched. Mine is like less than 2 sec.

EDIT:
Could be 1 sec or less if you count with Mississippi lol

Can i go back to ios beta 12.4 from ios 13 if i now download ios 12 beta profile and also will my data be removed or not??

Also, why doesn’t the keyboard theme into a dark mode? Is this intentional or going to be added later? Makes no sense as it’s a major portion of the user interface and it’s white even in dark mode.
[doublepost=1563678660][/doublepost]Oh, there is a dark keyboard but I see it’s only in default Apple apps that are already supporting dark mode. That seems stupid, you’d think they would force it across the entire iOS interface.

Apple isn’t forcing anything. They have provided tools for developers to do this on their own apps and sites. Works much better that way.

Come mid-September, when developers can finally release apps made with those tools, you’ll see that they have been working on this.

It in fact does not work better this way but rather fragments the entire iOS into a confusing mess.

What happens when older apps that people still use are not updated to support dark mode? It’s going to be jarring to see a dark keyboard and then not one. Over and over and over if the app developers choose not to support it. That’s better?

Does predictive text usually work while typing on these forums? I have it enabled but I don’t see any words in the upper bar, just a “done” button. I disabled predictive text for a while but now re-enabled it ... and can’t remember the previous behavior.

Good luck with that. Still on this day, many apps still don't support smart invert colours so...

Personaly, I think its a big mistake by Apple. Dark mode as of now looks like a mess and believe me, many apps will not do anything to support it. At least Apple could force the dark keyboard anywhere when this mode is activated. For me, its a nonsense.

Apps do not "support smart invert colors" at all and that's entirely the point of the approach being taken by Apple here. No system wide attempt to force content to be dark that wasn't designed that way is ever going to be 100% successful, whether it's a browser extension or an OS level feature. It does not and cannot work universally.

Apple have provided APIs at the OS level and CSS media query support in the browser to make it as easy as possible for app developers and website authors to support it. If you're not happy with a particular app or website it's them you need to complain to.

I think Apple is responsible for a good working dark mode if they want to bring one. Smart invert colours works very well in mail, news and Safari itself, so like a previous poster said, Apple have the technology to do a better system wide dark mode experience.

If Apple don't want to put any effort on it, why they don't allow extensions for iOS ? Dark reader on macOS mojave works very well and I think we give too much importance of how we should respect a webmaster design etc when in the end the most important thing is the user experience and if, for some reason, the user prefer to read on a darker background, then let them do it. Just this forum itself look very good with dark reader and MacRumors didn't have to do anything. Thats my point.

But for the previous post, its another step of absurdity with the dark keyboard not forced system wide by apple on Dark mode. It realy look unbalanced and not polished and like I said earlier in this tread, smart invert actually work better for Apple apps and popular third party apps than this dark mess.

Apple wrote those apps. Naturally, when implementing smart invert, they started with those. It doesn't work universally, because it can't. It's a best attempt accessibility feature. There's no platform in existence where such a thing is supported, because it can't work universally. That's it. There's nothing to debate, other than wishful thinking.

I agree.

All the talk pre-iOS 13 was that this would be a system-wide dark mode and I had anticipated Apple “forcing” this across the vast majority of the UI (as you say) with the notable exception of 3rd party Apps of course. Even those would have the opportunity to be dark though with a DevKit release.

it’s so disjointed in its current form.

Yes they could allow this in safari pages when dark mode is activated, or allow it for the news articles in news app, or in mail. If extensions like dark reader, or third party browser can do it, Apple can do it.

For Apps, it should definitely be Developer’s choice.

For “sites” / web based content and the iOS UI , I disagree. These all come under the system-wide banner for me and should be Dark when Dark Mode is enabled.
