What is best plan for hopping off the PB train and going back to stock? I would prefer not to DFU and just time the deletion of the profile. Possible?

If you are still on iOS 13.0 beta, you can delete the beta profile whenever you want and get the most polished public iOS 13 variant around 17-18 Sep via OTA (as the GM build will be higher than the current iOS 13.0 beta anyway).

13.1 beta 2 this week, 13.0 Gm next week. following week when 13.0 goes OTA then 13.1 beta 3 after that.

They don’t usually release any update a week before the event where new products are revealed. Usually there is a 2 week gap. It seems the public release will be 3.1 so there well might be no more betas of 3.1 - just the GM after the event which will contain software feature they reveal at the event.

all on the same beta profile?
Right! That's where this idea that a 13.0 variant will be released falls apart. How will a GM be distributed if the profile is already pointing to a 13.1 beta? Not saying Apple can't figure a way to do this (of course they can). But why would they?

I'd like any developer who has torn into the internals of 13.1 to tell me that its anything but a much further along 13.0. If someone can do that, I might believe we'll see 13.0 (ever). But until then, I'd say that ship has sailed and 13.0 will join the ranks of never released software (at least with that name).

It’s all down to build numbers, If you’re on 13.0 still, or lower, it’ll see the GM, if you’re on 13.1 you’ll not see it.

Someone had said this a week ago on here. They said that usually a 13.0 to 13.1 is a different string, but 13.1 is using the same string as 13.0 but 259 builds ahead, or something like that. So all they have to do is have the GM build number be higher than 13.1 b1, meaning that 13.0 db8/pb7 and lower users see 13.0 GM and remove 13.1 b1 from being available. 13.1b1 users won’t see it as already on 13.1.

Also, there was a discussion floating around on Twitter between some devs on there along these lines, so I poached from them.

Apple will have a way, we will just have to wait and see.

Bingo. Not hard to pull the 13.1b1 from being available and only have 13.0 GM, so those on 13.0 or lower get that. 13.1 users are none the wiser.
Or they just release 3.1 to everyone? Why is that so hard to believe? They are not obliged to make the first public version of iOS 13 a .0 release. The new phones will probably ship with 3.1 anyway.

Well, 13.1 Beta 2 will hopefully be tomorrow, then Catalina will be Thursday. They really need to give Catalina some more love if they want it ready in a few weeks.

Because it’s still in beta. We’re not likely to get b2 this week, meaning that next wee we would get it. On that basis, you’re expecting 2 betas (b1 is buggy as hell, worse than the iOS 13.0 betas) so it needs 4 betas, minimum.

Only 1 iOS x.1 release only had 2 betas. It makes no sense they’d have iOS 13.1 ready for next week/week after.

If these leaks are accurate:

Nah. Definitely fake. They released their full document which confirms it’s fake.

iOS 13.0 beta 8 is the gold master. iOS 13.0 will be released on September 23, and iOS 13.1 won't be until October. However, the new iPhones will ship with iOS 13.1 as the pre-installed iOS version. I'm glad I'm running 13.0 on my iPhone and iPad Pro, and not iOS 13.1.

BTW, N104 is the replacement for the XR. Check out my thread here on this.

Big “if” there. I’ve never heard or seen any reference to this twitter account. Not saying it’s wrong, but seems a bit sketchy.

Anyhow if it is fake, I applaud them, because it would take a fair amount of effort to do this, and the various iDevice codenames and beta build numbers appear accurate, and the timelines seem logical, too.

Again: could be. But we don’t know when that document was created. That might have been the planned development pipeline all along. It would be normal, for example, to see a dot-1 release in October.

We will know more tomorrow at this time. If we see beta 2, we'll have a pretty good idea they’re crashing to get 13.1 done for a sooner than usual release.

To be honest, I'm not so concerned about the iOS 13 timeline, since I've stopped at 13.0 beta 8 on my iPad Pro 10.5" and iPhone 7 Plus just to be safe. I don't want to wait until October (which was my prediction) for 13.1.

I'm mainly pleased to see that they specifically mention iPad Pro (2019) in their blurb. :)

@JPack submitted this to MacRumors, but MacRumors wouldn't bite. I guess they think it's bogus. :D

I’ve read all of that Twitter account « leaks » and I’m 99,9% sure it’s all fake. Subtle wording and some facts are clearly not coming from apple, even internal documents. I mean, I have seen some real leaks and it has never been messy like this. All of this does not bring anything really new. The fact that they say new phones will ship with 13.1 and the get 13.0.1 security update in October is impossible. Even if it’s a typo or whatever, the build numbers given are only the ones we already know, and clearly the person who did that has a misunderstanding of the way builds are working for apple betas. I was really hyped to see this, but it came down pretty quickly.

They‘re not going to ship the new phones with 13.1 and have the rest wait till october to get it... come on guys you can‘t be that gullible. The only likely scenario is that they ship the new phones with 13.0 but give 13.1 to the public (and new phones as a day 1 update).

Why wouldn’t they do it all as 13.0.1?

I was all with that until it said the new devices would be shipped with 13.1. There’s no way they’d be putting 13.1 on the devices, which they would have started doing 2 weeks ago, as beta 1 hadn’t come out until last week and that build has issues!
