I only we don’t usually get GM builds of x.1 builds, I’m wondering if this year might be different because it’s the first official build of iPad OS.

If Beta 4 drops either today or tomorrow, I'll update my XR to it from the 13.0 GM and put it on my iPad Air 3 as well. Looking forward to the final release at the end of the month but I'm not usually that patient and I really wanna give iPadOS a go as it looks so functional.

I am running iOS 13.1 beta 3 on my iPad Air 2 and it is doing just fine.

One, one always says the day after.

No cat consensus then, a pity! :p

Appears most of the new iPhones are still coming from China, so that theory of them being shipped earlier to avoid possible tariffs didn't end up correct. Makes it even harder to understand the 13.1, 13.0 change. Assuming we will get next 13.1 beta today or tomorrow.

The 13.1 / 13.0 split is most likely related to the 13.1 features not being ready in time for the iPhone launch, nothing to do with shipping / china / blah blah blah.

I think it's very likely that the original plan was to release 13.1 features as 13.0 on the 19th, but after some beta testing the features were determined to need more weeks than they had before iPhone launch date. At that point they split the build. As a side note I also think that the budget iPad also had a Sept. 20th launch date, but because it isn't as critical of device delaying it's launch until iPadOS is ready isn't a big deal.

Seeing as 13.1 is also iPadOS, it’s obvious that due to the new iPads release date, the plan was to get 13.1 betas out early, with iOS 13 coming out just on the iPhones this week.

Hindsight is great.

Maybe ios 13.0 GM seed 2 with mail fix

there wont be a iOS13 GM 2 seed this close to the public release on thursday. the public build number on thursday could be slightly different then the GM that was released last week if there was a major bug found that needed to be fixed.

13.1 is coming before the end of the month (allegedly 9/30) There wont be a 2nd seed when that is only 10-11 days off the 13.0 release.
