Long song and artist names no longer scroll on the music player on the lockscreen and control center. Same as with the RC. They are now truncated with ...at the end.
was hoping this was a bug but I guess not.

"Only Apple could do this."

Ah well. Hoping it gets fixed by next beta.

Or maybe they are thinking of ways to get people to upgrade to the Pro, software-wise. You want scrolling titles? It seems you are an advanced-level user, otherwise generally thought of as a Pro, please get the Pro device with scrolling titles functionality enabled.

I’m getting a text saying “Now Playing on Airplay” over the app CBS All Access when watching the video using the AirPods Pro... anyone else?
Yeah, am getting the same thing on both my iPad Mini 4 and my iPhone XR. This just occurred starting a couple of days ago after updating to iPad 14.1. I have tried everything; turning off Bluetooth-connected headphone of, then back on. Deleting the app, and reinstalling the app, and not letting it look for other devices. Still, it puts the message up in overlay text. ANNOYING! 14.2 iOS is now available. Perhaps that will help.

Just added "Airplay is broken for Airport Express devices, they no longer appear" to the wiki.

This was mentioned in the 4.2 RC1 wiki but strangely enough I didn't have the problem in RC1.
Tried disabling/reenabling AirPlay on the AE to not avail.

update: working fine on iPP 10.5 that updated from 14.1 to 14.2, broken on Xs updated from 14.2 RC1 to 14.2...
Anyone else seeing this difference?

Update 8 Nov: and it automagically works again on my Xs... removed the bug from the wiki.

Did this break widget stacks for anyone else?

They still worked in the last public beta.

for me it's working fine on my Xs, broken on iPP 10.5...

Update: rebooting the iPP fixed it for me. (the Xs rebooted already after removing the beta profile, maybe that reboot also fixed it for the Xs without even realizing it?)

I restored the phone last night, and the problem of the suggestions folder in the application library continues, and apart from that it gives me an error in the storage analysis, showing the "Others" section always weighing 0KB.

Good lord WTF have they done with mouse support on iPad? The cursor is now massive even on the smallest setting, and clicking on the home bar no longer brings you home and seems to do nothing?

Edit: Got it sorted. Had to turn off assistive touch.
However, now I lose some of the function of my mouse buttons. Must have a assistive touch enable.

I'm not sure if this is new or not (although I'm sure I would have noticed it before): If I get a text while I'm on a call, I get the notification sound, but no visual notification to show the text or who it's from, just the usual phone-call screen. Have to actively switch out from phone app. Is that a setting I've missed, or a bug, or just a behavior?

you can hide the assistive touch button in the settings

let me play stupid for a moment and ask you what do you mean by HIDE the AssistiveTouch button. I can toggle it off and I get the smaller Cursor circle but I lose the function of the other mouse buttons. What do you actually mean by hiding it? Any help would be very helpful

With hide I mean you can't see the assistive touch button anymore when you activate the option and use a mouse with the iPad.

Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch > Turn Always Show Menu off

Also, did they do away with the whole “long pressing the Now Playing window in Control Center shows Siri Suggestions” thing?

In past betas, if you weren’t actively listening to music, long pressing the Now Playing section would bring up 4-6 Apple Music suggestions. Haven’t seen that in a while.

hey Mike, your always spot on on here. I thought GM builds didn’t change for official releases. iOS 14.2 build number went from the GM 18B91 to 18B92 official release. Same builds or did they tweak the official release?

Looks like the official release was somehow slightly tweaked. I don’t see a difference, personally, but it *IS* a slightly different build number...

I’ve just updated and can’t swipe to the widgets screen. I’m guessing a reboot may fix this.

18B91 was a release candidate. Apple decided that it was necessary to make a change prior to release, so 18B91 did not become the release version.

Did so, but cannot retain or assign mouse button functions. maybe it has something to do with the mouse. Logitech M720. I give up. On top of this, I now when I try to make a reply to your post, and I get not only your post, but another member as well that was replied to much earlier. Guess we’re gonna have to wait for a new iOS update. Thank you for your time.

Which mouse do you have?

Edit: No go with Logitech M557 as well. Just scroll and highlight text & copy
