That still gives out more info than I want? Is there no way to have location off but when I loose the phone activate via iCloud ?

As long as find my iPhone is enabled?
I dont think so because Find My Phone is also in system services. Both would need to be on for it to work. You can try it and see if it will work with just fmp enabled and nothing else but I dont think it will work. If you turn off each app what is it you think is being giving out?

What’s does this mean? Means I can turn it off but if I enable lost phone via iCloud the location service turns back on? I just noticed this in recent beta and also you can locate the phone via blue tooth if there is no internet via other devices?

Interesting. Seems FMP will turn on locations if activate lost mode. And yeah in iOS 13.x Apple added the BT location deal to find phone even when not connected using BT beacons with other iOS devices near by. It was a new feature of FMP. Also to use the maps you have to have location service on. If you think about it, how will it find your device if there are no location services running? The device would have to "tell" where it is to be able to be found yes? Anyway I think this is off topic for this thread and perhaps should be moved to a new thread (or search for another discussion on this topic) :)

Downloaded. They better not mess up modems, I’m having crazy LTE speeds lol

I hate to break it to you, but that's a screwed up Speedtest, it's way past even the theoretical maximum for their LTE spectrum and also the speed Vodafone IE state they offer.

Cat 6 LTE 20MHz Band 3 + 10MHz Band 20 = 225Mbps

4G simply makes data on your phone faster, giving you a much better experience. Now Vodafone offers 4G+, the fastest speed available and up to 3 times faster than standard 4G (up to 225Mbps ).

We already provide 4G+ in over 12 counties including Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway, Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny, Kerry, Kildare, Meath, Wicklow and Tipperary with more to come.

Sorry but I though it was part of new beta when you have location off and enable lost phone via iCloud it turns on location services.

So you can have location off but go to iCloud clock on lost phone and if it has a signal it will activate location services via gos and lte ad WiFi and via blue tooth.... so you can find it on the map.

I’m going to test it out tomorrow leave the phone like a block away in the bushes with location off and log into I cloud at home and click lost phone! I think it will enable the map feature for me to locate ? It’s def new iOS feature I never seen before

that’s all

Not to get off topic for long, but just out of curiosity, what kind of speeds should we be getting from 5G? So far, all I’m seeing is meh LTE type download speeds. I thought even the non-MM band stuff was supposed to be somewhat faster.

Nah man 5G and 4G lte are same speed. T-Mobile 5G 600 MHz just reached further places where there was no cell coverage or slower speed.

give it another 2-3 years before they turn up the nitrous or turbo speeds! That’s why I have 10 Xs Max and I’m not budging till iPhone 14-15 at least not worth 5G yet

It has its ups and downs but in general I’m not terribly impressed. The good thing is it’s in its infancy so lots to look forward to *fingers crossed*.

There's low band, mid band and high band (mmwaves)

You'll mostly see speedbost around the midbands 3.5ghz-4.9ghz.

For anything lower 900mhz to 2600mhz, I think you'll get similar speeds with 4G LTE, but it allows more simultaneous connections so for football games, concerts, that's still better.

Correct me if I'm wrong

Problem solved yes you can location off but when you enable lost mode via iCloud location services turn back on.

So no I don’t need to have location services on, only my device lost feature on iPhone iPad or Mac etc etc

this was not case in previous iOS 12 or so. I lost my phone 2 years ago and didn’t have this feature at all

Has anyone with a 12 Pro Max got optimised battery charging working?

I've had my phone nearly 3 weeks now and optimised charging worked perfectly with the beta on my 11 pro max. But on the 12 pro max it doesn't seem to work?

I've checked all the required settings, especially in Privacy--Location, are all on as they should be.

Mine works fine without and problems.

I’m in England on O2-UK and I pull 62.5 Down 17.4 Up on LTE/4G as it’s known here. Then on 5G 292 Down and 24.9 Up

funny you say that, I never seen mine work till 3 days ago I say the message at 530 am. And I only say it that one day lol out of all the beta I had.

my understanding is you need OEM charger and OEM cable nothing after market to make this work properly.

cause I was using my iMac to charge it when I saw that my regular charger is WI fast charger and Belkin lightning ⚡️ cable

I have a 3rd party wireless charger. And that worked fine with my X, XS Max and 11 Pro Max. 🤷🏼‍♂️

12 pro max here... anybody notice how freaking good the battery life is this beta? Day 2 with i was at like 65% percent at 8pm after being at 100% around 12 pm. With heavy usage of social media, using notes and browsing the web, watching a couple videos on YouTube, I’d say this update if they can keep it just like this it would be perfect especially for this iPhone. Shows how well the A14 can really do with battery life. I never had the 11 Pro, but this is definitely blowing my old XS Max out the water.

Crazy it worked once for me and that was it and it was a week or two ago I seen the notification asking if I want to charge all the way by 530 am lol.

It never worked me since they released that option. Just google the problem alone you have answers all the the place why it works and why it doesn’t and for most people it does t work at all. So idk

I have xs Max and I can do 8 hours non stop use in my phone social video web email etc etc before my battery gets to 5 percent from 100....and that’s straight using it never turning off the screen at all or letting the phone go into stand by mode .

I use my phone as a computer some days even 12 hours non stop with charging it after 8 hours of use

I know, it was a misfire by Speedtest. Actually that was speed on WiFi but Speedtest recorded it as LTE 4G 🤷🏻‍♂️
