iOS 14.4 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Not experiencing frame drops anymore on iPhone 12 Pro Max, but I’ve also never had the swiping home but going into the app switcher instead problem before OR after this new beta. So maybe my issues weren’t as bad as some users.

That is so annoying. Been happening for quite some time now! Needs to be fixed for sure!
The brief empty text box upon opening a text message or iMessage thread still is there.
I’ve already seen the shortened and missing text box in Messages on the IPP 11 2020.
Initial impression and fixes - IPP 11 2020 and 12 ProMax
The stutter is gone. The animation for pages changes and other items looks a bit faster also. Nice.
Airpods Pro is worse. I am getting random switches between the IPP and PM. Ex: Watching YouTube on IPP and open an app on the PM, the APs would pause and momentarily swap over to the PM then switch back. Advertisements in Safari on the PM hijack them from the IPP until the advertisement finishes. Talk about frakking annoying.
Safari tabs are still busted.
Volume issues with unexpected changes is maybe fixed? If I pull up a BT item, if you detail it has a selection for type of device. See this with my Marley speakers and B&O headphones. Airpods don’t show this - assume iOS knows what they are.
Battery - give me a few days. Way too soon.

PS5 controller is officially supported as of iOS 14.3
same for Amazon Luna as well
as of Xbox Series... it isn’t officially supported but it uses the same
Protocol as Xbox one controller so it should still work
In this beta Find My app supports third party accessories. Interesting
but then maybe it’s an airtags thing
Been spending the evening going through some of the apps I use frequently.
On the 12 ProMax all seems to be good. Getting a small pause; 10-15 seconds on some apps at launch.
On the IPP 11 I am seeing some serious bugs where some apps are freezing mid run for up to 30 seconds then the app usually continues on. Ex: PDF Expert, Heckfire, Blink, Quakefeed, Teams. Will be watching this more as possibly an app update may fix things.
Yes, Siri is still an idiot.
I am getting (still) the onscreen keyboard popping up when selecting a text field on my IPP11 attached to a Magic Keyboard. This is occuring on stocl Apple apps also.
Mail still has a myriad of issues. Will need to test more but I am getting a significant delay in all accounts after a manual refresh where the Unread = X (say 5) and on opening the account I will only see 1 or 2 unread emails. The remainder usually show up within 10-15 seconds. The 15 minute refresh for non-push email does not seem to be working.
Will report these tomorrow after a bit more testing.

Anyone noticed that iPhone selectes android use contacts in blue who have android phones? Happens to my mother all the time and she has S9 phone and in my context 7 out 10 times in high lights in blue? I have to exit contacts several times before it turned green. Other wise the nesssge will fail to send. It think it’s an iPhone?
SAme here and some android user turn blue not green for some reason and while they are blue the txt and mms fail to send
Whilst pS5 controller is officially supported, Bluetooth still does not work so you can’t actually play remotely via Bluetooth?? Unless I’m missing something.
Which is correct behaviour of iOS due to the different encryption levels. Good article on 9to5Mac posted today that explains this at the end of the article
Had this issue happen yesterday and I’m not even using this beta.
Yes, correct behavior if locked. But not correct behavior when unlocked and at the Home Screen and your wife texts you from her iPhone and it shows her phone number at the top instead of her name. This has been my experience in the last week+ or so. Maybe two. And I'm seeing this on my iPhone and iPad.
And to the person earlier going on about not being on the beta or that I should be or whatever and asking questions about each component is silly, gimme a break lol.. I haven't been in a position where I'd be able to update until today, so how's about layin' off a bit with the 'tude. Until H3LL5P4WN's Post the other day, I assumed I had changed a setting or something. Now I know there's potentially more people having this issue, so inquiring if other's have had this issue & if they are now not having this issue shouldn't bother you that much.

What does this even mean:
there is an easily visible feedback app to report bugs. If you do above, it opens that app, same thing as opening the app the regular way

You can also create a Shortcut (Here's mine) and save that to the Home Screen. It's great because you can still report bugs on release software as well as on betas. I try and go thru and resubmit any bugs again after updating to the next beta, and then reference the other Feedback #'s, in case anyone on the other side is looking.
Yep, installed yesterday maybe an hour after release. Experience has been good so far.
This is the first time I've installed a beta. Are you saying that all of these submissions "disappear" once you install a newer beta? It doesn't keep an archive or running history of your submissions? And if an issue isn't resolved in the previous beta you have to re-create the submission from scratch? That's crazy, if so.
