Seems the Music/Bluetooth combo is the only feature set that consistently presents with problems for me lately.

Leaving for work this morning, phone connected to Pioneer head unit via Bluetooth successfully. The music also started automatically which is great. After the current track finished, the next one began with info/progress displayed but was silent. It was a track I'd never heard so I thought maybe it had a silent intro (the song was only about two and half minutes long). Track progress reached the end and instead of moving on to a new track, the same track started from the beginning, with sound this time.

12 ProMax
Couple of new, maybe not bugs.

I was typing in Messages and Siri kept showing up randomly. Could still type, but if you try to take a screenshot of it, screenshot will not work. Reported.

Was in Safari and typing in a couple of forums when my keyboard would show up with no letters. Still worked. Just no letters. Reported.

Battery.
12 ProMax.

THESE ARE PRELIMINARY FINDINGS AFTER 2 DAYS...

I am finding after two days that I am getting less onscreen time than beta 1.
Down to around 25% with my normal use. Under Beta 1 I was getting 8-9 hours. I am getting 7-8 so far under Beta 2. It will really take me around a week or more. So this preliminary could change.

Did run into another issue though: wireless charging. Since Beta 2, my Anker Wireless changer will not charge past 82%. This limit is being enforced by the OS somehow. My 11 ProMax on 14.3 still charges to 100%. If I plug the 12PM in it charges to 100% no problem. If anyone has suggestions on why it is stopping at 82% please let me know.

Have not reported these yet.

The 82 percent limit is normal it’s called optimized battery charging , if you go into battery settings on your phone you will see that option. It learned how you phone charges over time and Leicestershire from going to 100 percent

Thanks. I went and looked and it was on. This was not something I turned on as you can see by my beta 1 charging comment.

But I wonder. My almost religous daily habit is to use all day and charge all night (when I go to bed) using a wireless charging stand. Been doing this since Apple introduced wireless to the iPhone. Now with Beta 2. it stops at 82%? I went back to my 11 ProMax, It is turned on but it always charges to 100%. It is on 14.3.

Hmmm....

@DimaVR - Cycled both my 11 and 12 PM last night with OBC on. Placed each on the charging stands. 11PM charged to 100%. 12PM charged to 87%.

Gonna keep playing.

After multiple days of use, I can definitely state that the hang/lag/stutter is not fixed and is more pervasive after several days of use - iPhone 12 Pro w/iOS 14.4 Beta 2 (18D5043d).

Also seeing occasional crashes in Apple apps like Calendar, Mail, Safari and Weather.

Must be specific to the iPhone 12. Not seeing crashes, hang, lag, stutter on my Xs max.

Had these individuals previously used an iPhone? I had a similar issue when I switched to an Android phone for a few years. My email address and maybe phone number were still linked to my Apple profile and (i)Messages as a valid address. I don't remember how I fixed it, but I think there may have been an Apple support article on it.
Never they were android since like android ver 4, they hate apple to be honest with you

Switching to cable bor night charging for now. Using these next few days to get a better view at battery life. Then again I may just turn it off on both phones and see if it affects the 11PM on 14.3
Thx

I’ve somehow got incredible battery life. I charged my phone last night and still 38% left. SOT is more than 6 hours already and there is still 38% left. Not sure if this can be related to latest update, just wanted to post

Yeh it sucks doesn’t work for me either I think it worked once in like 2 years lol

Swiping to go home and switch apps is kind of a key usability concern to be crippled still. Happens on my iPad Pro and iPhone 12. Also still get animation stutters on both devices. Funny how Apple brags about how powerful their chips are and its flagship devices cant render smooth system animations after 4 months of iOS 14.

People do not expect iOS/ iPadOS to perform up to the mark on flagship devices from the get go. At least that’s what I feel people think here. I don’t know if this sample at MR is fit enough to be extrapolated on to a larger populace, but Apple’s software performance on flagship devices on launch day seems to suggest people don’t care.
