You need the watch beta 7.4 also.Apparently I’m unable to activate the new unlock with Apple feature?? iPhone 12 on 14.5 beta and my watch 3 is on 7.3 beta. So normally it should work? No?
YupDoes it work with the new PS5 dualsense and screen play?
Fine hereDoes anyone know if the PlayStation app still doesn’t work with the new updated beta?
Yup, I can confirm it’s missing in the latest build ending in KI just realised (don’t know if j build was the same as k build) that the option to select type or device in Bluetooth is missing. Even after forgetting the device and re-pairing.

I have upgraded to the public beta on both my iPhone and my Apple Watch. now when I tried switching this feature on I get this error message saying: Cant communicate with your Apple Watch, try again. Ive restarted my devices multiple times and tried some other workarounds but still nothing so far. does anyone have an idea what's wrong ?
My PlayStation app closes as soon as I open it. Tried to reinstall it and same thing.Yup
Fine here
Sure, you've been able to turn off the passcode for years, but then you can't use the Watch for Apple Pay.Not a new feature. It’s always done this for a long time now. It’s a setting.
Nobody said it was about turning off the passcode. It's about unlocking via the iPhone, it's been possible for a long long time.Sure, you've been able to turn off the passcode for years, but then you can't use the Watch for Apple Pay.
thanks! I guess ill wait and see what happens with the next update then. This seems to be an issue with the beta (though not sure which beta: iOS or WatchOS). I think the best thing for you to do is to report the issue and then simply wait for the next beta release, where hopefully Apple will have resolved the issue.
Rest assured: Apple has not stopped support for your particular model of Apple Watch, contrary to the screeching of some on this forum.
Hasn’t it always worked like thatMy favourite new feature is no more typing in my Apple Watch code every morning.
Now when I unlock my phone it unlocks the Watch as well, clever stuff!
Ah, you're right, my bad.Nobody said it was about turning off the passcode. It's about unlocking via the iPhone, it's been possible for a long long time.
No need to be sorry man, we're all here to learn stuff !Ah, you're right, my bad.
I actually didn't know about the setting in the Watch app to unlock Watch by unlocking iPhone. I'm happy to know this now. Sorry for the ignorant remark earlier.

Actually I'm not even sure this was an option in the Settings, before. I know it worked but I don't remember if there was an option to turn on for it to works. More experienced people could confirm or not...
Mine did the same, however it worked after both devices were rebooted. Strangely my watch showed no cellular plan briefly but did come back as well.I have upgraded to the public beta on both my iPhone and my Apple Watch. now when I tried switching this feature on I get this error message saying: Cant communicate with your Apple Watch, try again. WiFi has to be enabled, but it does not have to connect to an active network.Does your phone always has to be connected to Wifi for the Unlock with Watch to work? I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and Series 6 wifi
Agreed, I needed that to get my BT headset I have at work working on my iPhone. I will test and see if it still works at all currently.Oh. Hope it is in for some tuning and will be back. I liked that feature if it made a difference and wasn't just a gimmick.
thanks for letting me know. I guess ill try that a couple of times again.Mine did the same, however it worked after both devices were rebooted. Strangely my watch showed no cellular plan briefly but did come back as well.
Typing “RIP” used to trigger the gravestone emoji suggestion (🪦), but now it doesn’t work for me.
Not sure if it’s because I’m on 14.5 or what. Can anyone confirm that it still works?
