iOS 14.5 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

On Mac, you can update MacOS to the 11.3 RC or install Xcode 12.5 RC and the IPSW will work.
I'm on MacOS 11.3 beta and the IPSW worked fine without issues.

Yes. Typically there are flags that can be enabled to expose features without requiring a new build. These features were most likely flagged as hidden in B8 and activated in RC.

It could be MDM if it has some privacy settings configured. My device is enrolled with my company's MDM and app tracking is not disabled for me.

Starting to go through the apps to see if any existing bugs I have run into have been fixed.

IPP 11 - Messages - still have missing or incorrectly placed text box
12PM - Camera - at 2.5x from low to sunlight the Camera sticks with the digital zoom
12PM - Mail Accounts Unread added up do not match total Unread at times
12PM - App Library - Big Three in each category are not the most common used in the category
IPP 11 - Mail - Badge often does not match Unread total
12PM - Phone - reboot removes Call Blocking in Settings. Go through app to reset
IPP 11 - AirPods Pro - after update device no longer recognized the APP - had to setup as if new
IPP 11 - Magic Keyboard - attached to MK the on screen keyboard will popup when selecting a text entry object
12PM and IPP 11 - Siri - low IQ and heading down
12PM and IPP 11 - Keyboard - corrective text frequently will force correct with a word that makes no sense or is the incorrect tense - examples: has to Hass, have to had, hr. to he - many others

All of these existed in Beta 7 and beta 8 except for the APP disconnect. Not seeing any changes for RC.

Verizon has been average since the release of the 12 Pro, at least for me in Houston. Average is being nice. Anyways, during the beta process, their network has been doing better and I've kept the phone on for 5g with no serious issues. I know the modem and the carrier profile hasn't changed since beta 8, but man, this RC has slowed Verizon to a crawl. Weird.

Have you tried resetting network settings,(?) just curious if that might help

Existed even in beta 3, it was from there I jumped of the beta train. It's so crazy that so many bugs still remains in RC. Now I will wait for iOS 14.5.1 or 15.

How about the watercolor-issue in stock camera?

Anyone who use Adguard Pro? When I used beta 3 of 14.5 the ad-filtering didn't work.

Not done much digging but so far the only thing i noticed and like about 14.5 is the haptic feedback when you take off magsafe wallet is very noticeable 👌

Lag/sound sync is working as normal on the EarPods Gen1. During the beta on you tube the sound was fractionally delayed so lip sync looked out. Not getting that anymore with the RC 👍🏼

I am able to switch it on on my iPhone but it doesn’t do anything yet. I assume when the final public release of 14.5 comes, the tracking is enabled globally.

Yep, if you've deleted the profile after beta 6, wait for the final release, you'll see it pop up in software updates once it's out for the public.

Just updated my 12PM and it removed the Blocking option from Settings.... pita.

And the release notes say it’s fixed. Lol. Just disappeared for me again

The podcast app no longer seems to show current downloaded episodes for an individual podcast (i.e. if I've downloaded 5 2 year old episodes, they're no longer front and centre). Is this a bug or a feature?
