I believe the thinking at Apple is that the battery on the iPad is so large and the device is not potentially life-critical that is not necessary to do this.

It was recently added to MacOS so it will probably come to iPad at some point

I didn’t think I would gravitate to PiP with iPadOS with such eagernes. Since installing it today, I am appreciating the multitasking ability it affords. While not critical, it does further enhance the practicality and usability of the iPad Pro.

I also appreciate the new Scribble feature.

The iPad Pro is new to me (2 days old). Before this purchase, I bought an iPad mini 5 last year, and before that, 2912 was my first iPad. In that regard, it is a new feature for me.
Right that makes sense. But your post makes it sound like you just started using PIP since installing iPadOS 14 “today” and thus insinuating that it’s a new feature. Enjoy your new iPad!

Since I haven’t had a iPad capable of PiP before today, I was unaware of PiP until it was mentioned with iOS 14. Hence my post.

Thanks. I am really liking it compared to my mini 5, which was the best Apple product for me, save the Apple Watch. And the Magic Keyboard makes it closer and closer to a laptop replacement for a person like me.

Has the files app in iOS 14 been made any less useless? Ie do search results include inside documents? Can I download whole folders at once from iCloud Drive? Can I have the option to download the whole iCloud Drive or to 'optimise iCloud storage' on Mac?

I think you have the wrong thread.

I figured since if these changes had happened the file app would be counted as small changes in iOS 14, that they might have been posted here or discussed had they happened.

This is a Wiki thread...doesn't mean what you are looking for is listed in the first post (or in the only 6 pages of this thread) but you'll probably get a better response if you ask HERE. I don't look at every post there closely and honestly don't use the files app enough to care, so I may have overlooked it.

You’ve done this twice now where you quote someone but have no post addressing what you’ve quoted. Are you having issues posting?

You can hide apps from the Siri suggestions widget directly as well in Siri settings

Can anyone confirm if on iOS 13 when you edit finger prints and you place your saved finger on the home button that it highlights the one that it’s saved as? Might be new to iOS 14

For most people, it means quicker launches as the enter key on the keyboard is easier to tap while searching that moving your finger up the screen and tapping the icon.

It’s also a very noticeable difference on iPadOS with an external keyboard attached, since you don’t have to take your fingers off the keyboard to reach up & tap the icon.

There are some really nice additions that make HomeKit more convenient:

1) Inside the app itself, all smart items that are currently active appear in a row across the top of the home screen, allowing for easy control from one place:

2. Holding down on the HomeKit icon in Control Center now pops up a full screen platter which shows much more information than in previous versions of iOS:

3. Favorite devices from my home automatically appeared in control center has their own icon!

4. Within a room, multiple active devices of like type get grouped into a single icon in the top row. This means I can now turn off all the lights in a room with a single tap:

My biggest issue with the Home app has always been how cumbersome it was to quickly make simple changes. All of these tweaks are awesome!

I wonder if the next time it reminds you of a holiday, it will prompt to skip the alarm? Even cooler would be a way to add days to skip since I know what days we will have off well in advance.

I doubt it, but it's a nice idea. It is however very easy to skip one time. In the "wind down" screen you can see the alarm, just tap it and you'll get the option to disable/change it just for the next day. The day after, your regular schedules will continue which is really nice if you ask me.

First holiday here is July 21th so I won't be the first to mention the feature if it exists. Go go 4th of July?

I take a lot of photos every day and I started to notice an ever so slight improvement in my photos using an XR running iOS 14. Portraits popped with a bit more vibrancy and general photos were warmer.
Put two XRs side by side an took some photos. My personal observations are..

-My XR compared to one running latest iOS 13 now has a warmer tone of our iPhone 11 XS max.

Doesn’t affect daytime photos that much but I did notice portraits tend to have more pop and faces have a much warmer tone especially at night. In one of my photos there was a noticeable different under led lighting where the iOS 13 XR produced a ghostly faced portrait image where as the iOS 14 XR produced some nice warm tones.

General darker shots were brighter as well just a touch enough for someone comparing them blindly could easily tell.

Couldn’t really see any change of actual pixel quality they certainly didn’t enable any deep fusion enhancements.

But really happy Apple have made some noticeable changes to the XR camera I have in my possession at least. Pity these are on lease plans as they would make great camera phones for some years to come.

I noticed some changes to the camera as well! White balance is much more natural now.
