Pubic beta is out
But..but...I thought it always came out 6 or 7 days later?!?

(And it usually does, as I learned. Apple once again proving they will do things on their timetable, not ours!)

You think it’s ok to test out on a daily driver? I did that last year with 13 and had no issues...at least on my iPhone.
Different opinion from me: Its fine if you can tolerate some minor issues, such as widgets that occasionally don't display data or are slow in updating. For me, there are no showstoppers, just some minor hiccups.

Long gone are the days when they only had to worry about on 2 OS releases. Now with all the segmentation AND public betas to boot, I think predictability is no longer possible

I’ve noticed a strange bug on my iPhone X; after restoring successfully I notice that the battery drains very quickly whilst the phone is left idle.
Turns out under General > Battery that the restore is ongoing however this is even 12 hours after restoring.

i restored the phone again using the ipsw and still get the same problem.

anyone else see it?

Installed iOS 14. Personally don’t see much worth talking about. Widgets look like a waste of time. Maybe airpods and that spatial stuff but didn’t notice it. Phone calls not taking up whole screen might be the best feature. Mail seems snappier. That’s about it.

Glad I kept jailbreak on main device.

Is it normal behavior to have to accept a call twice..? I have to click the green accept button in the call banner notification, which actually just expands it to a full-screen notification the way it used to be. Then I have to press accept again. Is this by design? Halfway defeats the purpose of relegating call notifications to the banner IMO, I don't want to have to accept twice.

Edit: This is actually just happening for FaceTime calls and I understand the reasoning. Need to be fully aware that you're about to start broadcasting your surroundings to someone.

no issues here. Check your phone app settings.

Maybe you're missing the circle for answer, as I've had it do the full screen if I'm half in, half out when tapping it.

Sorry, I misspoke. I thought this happened for phone calls too, but it actually only happens for FaceTime calls. They require the second 'accept' after the notification goes full-screen. Regular phone calls can be accepted right from the banner with one press. And now that I'm thinking about it more that kind of makes sense.

I’ve been stock and doing the betas since iOS 9 so having jailbreak again there was no way I was giving up that for this beta.

I’ll just wait now till iOS 14 is jailbroken.

I have definitely decreased the number of reboots after turning off esim and leaving the physical nanoSim card alone. Today I only had one iPhone restart. I have the impression that there is something else with the blutooth connection, because as yesterday the iPhone lost connection with the watch it restarted.

Can you not hide apps from the App Library? I don’t need everyone to see the Grindr app as a „in your face“ icon when I hand the phone to someone 🙄
Nope, but then they would only see it if they went over to App Library, so you could just hide it from your Home Screen. Where do you have it now? As it basically is the same, except on App Library, it only stands out if it’s the most commonly used app in that category in the App Library, otherwise it’s a small icon, or not even shown.

well, seeing as I don’t use An eSIM, it’s not that for me. I think it’s more down to memory, as out of all the times it has happened, has been when I join a meeting with video in MS Teams, it’s happened many other times with random things, but for now, that’s my best guess. Could it be that using eSIM/Dual SIMs uses a chunk of memory, which is why you see less by disabling it?

I thought the same thing and was about to moan about it too, but your edit does make sense. Maybe some text in the notification to warn (e.g. "VIDEO call incoming, camera will activate" or something) to reduce the button presses? I'll get used to it, but it does seem like I accept a call knowing what's going on, only to have to accept it again.

Found a strange mail/battery bug last night.

I don’t use stock Mail app, but have it installed with my accounts signed in.

Was on the battery status page in settings and over the last 24 hours, Mail had been in use in the background for nearly 18 hours, using up 37% of my battery.

Over the last 10 days, it’s been in the background for 42 hours and still used 10% of my battery.

Anyone else seeing this?
