iOS 14 Beta 5 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

I can still unlock my iPhone with FaceID when I have a mask on. In the beginning I figured it learned my face but it also works with a completely different mask so on one hand I am like great, its actually convenient, on the other hand I am not sure how secure that actually is. One mask is green with a colorful pattern on it and the other mask is a white surgical mask, so they are not even anything alike.

Pressing Volume Up, Volume Down and holding the Power button is NOT the equivalent of pulling the plug on a running computer. It's the equivalent of CTRL-ALT-DEL on a PC.

While there is always a risk of data loss, in some cases it's the only option to restart the device.

It causes the device to do a complete reboot, clearing memory, cache, etc..

How did you do that? I’ve got the same problem. My phone restarted and atm I don’t have apps folder
Edit: they are back after 10-15 min by itself. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not sure. I have them on my Xs Max, my 2020 SE and my 10.5" iPad Pro.

It's fixed in DP5.

Is the Latest public beta that was released today stable for my main daily iPhone 11 Pro or is it full of bugs and I should wait for final version?

Since it's been out less than 20 minutes, it's hard to say.. and my usage is (probably) different from yours... but DP5 is pretty solid. The public beta is (typically) the same version/code as the respective DP, so it could be.

Health app of iPhone displays the message “This Apple Watch is no longer paired with this iPhone”, even though the watch continues to sync with the iPhone,
 
As with beta 4, any new photos I take on an iPhone 7 still lack geolocation info at the top of the photos, both on the 7 and on an iPad 6th gen. The info shows up on Catalina and on iCloud. I tried deleting/re-adding the photos from all devices and toggling location permissions for camera to no avail. The location info does show up when the map is revealed below the photos. Anyone else having this issue?

For some reason I can't share pictures to my Instagram stories, the upload just shows up as a black screen. Anyone else seeing this issue? I'm on Dev Beta 5.
 
The Today view in News refuses to load on my iPad Pro 11. I can move to other sections, just not that one. Anyone else having that issue?
 
Since the first beta I’ve had trouble accessing my different internet accounts under settings. Does anyone know how to go about this? I’m on an iPad Pro for reference.

What are you asking? What does "had trouble accessing..." mean? Are you talking about the location of the setting(s) or is the issue with how the setting(s) work?

The location of the setting. I’ve been unable to find out how to navigate to the internet accounts section of Settings to add/remove accounts such as gmail, exchange, etc.

It is fixed for me, but I do seem to recall someone posting yesterday that its still an issue for them.
 
I can’t believe people don’t have a problem with the Share Sheet in the Photos app not working right. Trying to send multiple photos through Messages with the Share Sheet results in the photos being sent out of order.

This has been broken since iOS 13 and nobody seems to notice or care. Really blows me away, as it affects me almost every day.

Reported this dozens of times.

I've seen you mention this over the course of the last two beta cycles and still have yet to come across a situation where it makes a difference.

I'll go ahead and submit a report on it. In the meantime, can you explain how this impacts you so negatively?
