If every little tweak in iOS has an option to customize it further it’d become Android. Bloated!
Glad somebody said this. Having been around here for a little while, one of the things that grinds my gears the most is the "why can't Apple just give us the option?" shtick. We're coming up on iOS 14. There's enough options buried throughout the Settings menu as it is.

The 'Sea of Icons' had to be broken up eventually as a lot of folks are tired of it. I've used iOS since the iPhone first launched - for me the widgets are a welcome change.

anyone else have an issue with iOS 14 beta randomly silencing the ringer and alert slider? seems I’m able to replicate this after going into any app to select a photo. dropbox/reddit etc.

More and more I am running in to links in emails that open in the browser without an option to open in the corresponding app and no link to passwords.

I used to click on a Twitter link (as an example) and could open in Safari or Twitter. Now it goes straight to Safari. Once there it asks for login credentials however the link to you Password file is no longer available. Meanwhile I am logged in via the app.

pita.

To be fair often enough over different updates Apple has added various options that weren't there before and that some would similarly say weren't really needed when some of those were brought up before Apple introduced them. It doesn't have to be some sort of an absolute where everything has multiple options associated with it, but certainly some level of that can make sense and often ends up making sense as Apple ends up adding some sort of options.

Ultimately it depends on the particular option and what it might involve as far as the controls that are offered or the work that needs to be there to support it. Adding an option somewhere to disable some feature or add some basic controls to it doesn't on its own necessarily add bloat or somehow make iOS become Android (whatever that means as far as carrying some sort of negative connotation).

One of the things that Grinds My Gears is the 1:1 comparison of iOS & Android. They’re never going to have parity, even while both OS’s strive to accomplish similar things in their own ways. Sometimes those ways are the same, sometimes not, but it’s inevitable that over time most “options” will be there for both OS’s. Especially the visual options..

And to be fair, “why can’t Apple just give us the option” to have an app list or app category folders seems like a pretty reasonable want.

I am also seeing that... and just once conversation for me, too... the others seem to stay pinned.
I had this issue in Beta’s 4-7 (resolved in b8), with one pinned group on one device and not another. I’d remove it from one and it’d get added back on another device.

anyone use watchos 7 beta ?
Yeah, the most recent beta’s had back-to-normal great battery life. It’s very “snappy” and quicker than watchOS 6 because there was a delay removed, I guess? Some part of the app launching process was fixed or corrected in watchOS 7 and now pretty much everything opens/actions/does whatever WAY faster now. I’ve got a S4 Apple Watch and now I feel like I can hold on to it for another couple years hopefully. Unless battery life starts degrading fast.

Actually, it was #3 of 9... and I cannot re-pin it. It's the only conversation of the 9 that include NON-iPhone ("SMS" v Messages) groups.
For me, it's only the group(s) that are SMS that are getting un-pinned from device to device. It seems it only stays pinned on one device and if you try and pin a SMS group on a different device, it unpins it from all the other devices. The iMessage-only groups are staying pinned on all devices.

This has been my experience as well

#5 unpinned again. I am always able to repin for whatever unspecified amount of time. And that one does have Greens, but it's not the only one

I think it may be the only one that has more than one contact that is all green. I have others with multiples, but at least one contact is blue. And have other threads with green but they are just one contact
