I didn’t check the build for beta 8 on my iPhone before I updated to the GM, but on my iPad beta 8 was build 18A5373a, so the GM is definitely a different build at 18A373.

I know that anytime I answered thisquestion, I said it needed Niantic to fix it, as it was the same issue with COD Mobile and other apps that fixed it a while back. Niantic are crap at updating, every year.

Same build as B8. Some differences might happen whilst installing the update, as it’s a full one, not a delta, plus all the logging stuff is removed.

How do you know the logging stuff is removed? I keep seeing this mentioned, but I’ve never seen a source.

It makes sense that Apple would continue anonymous logging even on public iOS releases to track performance of the device fleet.

How do you see the next-hour precipitation chart (Dark Sky)? First time installing iOS 24 (didn’t run the earlier betas) and can’t find it. Weather app looks pretty much the same as iOS 13.

the site i found has the GM uploaded for 11, 11 pro, pro max, xs max etc. However nothing for the 7 as of yet. I just tried to update from 13.7 via itunes on windows and no dice.

And still nothing useful when long pressing on the FaceTime or Phone icon. iOS 14 started out so well with the first beta, but since then it seems Apple just kind of abandoned it and went off to do something else. Same with Big Sur.

That’s what drives me nuts.
Just after I posted the mismatch on my 11PM, I looked at my IPP11 and they matched. But the phone didn’t. What baffles me is “why do they differ?”.

It's always a good idea to install the GM because it gets rid of all the extra beta files for testing and feedback, etc.

I installed it and still have the feedback app.

If you delete the profile, the feedback app should be removed upon a restart. I believe in the GM, the feedback app is tied directly to the profile. I know its been like that for the PB in the past.
