iOS 14 Release Speculation

curious when they going to release HomePod OS as it still on 13.4.8 not any version of 14 yet. will they release a 14.1 or wait till 14.2 🤔

Hopefully when iOS 14.1 is released, but it’s crossed my mind they’ll wait for HomePod mini to be released and update then...

This is what I am thinking, that we get it weekly, as we're 3 weeks from the public release of 14.2 (if it's coming with the Pro Max & Mini as many suspect).

14.1 is the real 14.0 though. Between 14.0 that came out with the watch not being ready for primetime, along with the fact that it's coming out in the week of the new iPhones, it tallies more with x.0 releases, as the x.1 releases in the past were after the new phones.

Don't get me wrong, I would like it out now, so I can get my daily drivers on it, but I just think that it's going to be Thursday (with a good chance of tomorrow), a la x.0 releases :)

Yea, this is the one I can't decide on for sure, but I'm going with it coming out in the week of the HomePod Mini, for that consistency.
 
HomePod 14.1 was being tested up until 14.2 went into beta so whether they are rolling everything into one update and we get it all as 14.2 or whether we will see 14.1 this week and 14.2 a few weeks from now remains to be seen.

I’m pretty sure 14.1 for HomePod is out already. I’m on the HomePod betas and I’m on 14.2

I know there was one of the 14.1 HomePod betas that gave me major issues, but otherwise everything’s been working well for me. I haven’t seen the option to set as default on the Apple TV, yet. But I think that’s a part of the iOS 14.2 betas..
 
I don't remember a New Year's Eve this hopeful and cheerful :)
