If I recall correctly, they had the 13.1 Beta profiles on the Thursday before launch of iPhone 11 last year.
Phone was released on September 20th, beta was released on 19th

Yea, i don’t remember them doing this before. They might have done, but would be such a rarity.
I’m going with another prediction that’ll be proven wrong soon enough, but I think we will get GM for 14.2 the week after next, with public release the week of the Pro & Mini launch.
As there has been a GM I would say sooner rather than later. I wonder if they found a bug or something, will need to compare build numbers when it does come out.
beta 5 next week then GM the first week of November then public release the week of November 9th?

Seeing as the 12 Pro & 12 Mini is likely to ship with 14.2, it's more tied to that, than a calendar. Big public releases are always tied to a date.
Beta 4 is an A build so probably GM next weeek then. Release first week of November and then start iOS 14.3 beta 1
I don't see it being next week. It will be the first week of November, with the public release the week of the Pro max & mini launching. Just like all the x.0, 14.0, 14.1 releases. The Pro Max & Mini will come with 14.2 on.
