But no mail received from Apple in developer accounts intimating this.
I was sure that Apple sent some comms out about it. Most tech/IT companies and departments have a Christmas amnesty period, putting things on hold, simply due to holidays over the Christmas period. Don’t expect to see anything until after New Years.

They posted that App Store Connect will be down from 12/23 to 12/27. But that's different than the OS team.

There should be no expectation that Apple would need to notify its users or developers that the development teams might get time off over the holidays. Why would anyone need to be notified?
Additionally, if Apple were to release an update this week, and that update had some severe bug, they would then need to have more support and development staff available to handle it over the holidays. It's the smart thing to do to not have a release of any kind this week.

Ideally no one needs to notify anyone for anything. its ultimately business sense to send mails.
but it’s been customary for apple to send intimations to developers whenever there has been long gaps in the arrangements. This includes intimations they sent for thanks giving week holidays. going by your logic they should not have sent any mail intimating their thanks giving holiday break.

Releases cannot come before 11 Jan.

Ugh. Let's just hope we're not waiting until the 18th or 19th for beta 2. My phone is behaving but that itch for an update never really goes away.

3rd is rather early, but it shows that releases can happen in that first week of the year.
