Okay be patient with me; I'm just trying to understand.

So Apple just getting back to work today after a holiday break means they won't release anything because.......? It seems to me if they have several builds ready for testing, a Monday release would be most beneficial for the testing community.
I don't think that necessarily means something specific one way or another, just more related to likelihood of something happening. When a company gets back to work after a break it's not that likely they will jump in at full capacity and full speed right from the very first day as people are getting back into the swing of things.

As is now apparent, a Monday (first day back) release was not in the cards. Hey, everyone needs to share those holiday stories around the virtual watercooler!

That said, I don’t think they need a week to “get back up to speed” to release a new beta. They are several builds ahead and probably already have the new beta all dialed in and ready to drop on their pre-arranged calendar for such things. This is not some craftsman’s shop or a massive assembly line, where they turn off the furnaces during the Christmas break and have to heat them up again to start turning out products. Apple has a timeline and they have been working against that timeline the whole way through.

My personal belief is that that timeline includes a beta release on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.

Also hoping for another release this week - and, yes, good project managers include holidays (zero work days) in their planning, so the schedule doesn't slip.

Maybe even Thursday, as Monday would have been a "how was your holiday?" non-productive day. :)

It’s next week guys! They need a week to work after holidays

Yup. Need to fire up the old software creation machine from the cold shutdown at Christmas.
