So are people not recommending the update? My devices are working well on 14.3.. I guess I could just update my iPad and see how it goes for a few days.

I think the Dual Sim thing is a very real possibility with a 14.5. Could also be some interesting iPadOS items, especially if 14.5 is timed to be released with new iPads in March.
That will happen they having a live event in feb for widgets and things like that that inviting developers to improve them
I am also intrigued. Never heard of such event and probs doesn’t exist. This would be more suited to WWDC.
In my mind, this would make perfect sense. The word (via Rene Ritchie) is that widgets on iPad were supposed to have had the same capabilities as on iOS but that the pandemic forced Apple to set that aside in favor of making iOS feature complete. By the time of a 14.5 release (presumably March) it will be halfway between major IOS/iPadOS releases and 14.5 is halfway to 15. So it would make sense - aesthetically, at least - to see that then (if we are to see it at all in 14).
