Most responses I see to this question are the same camp: setting new default apps won't be available until the fall since developers needs to submit updates to their apps that include iOS 14 APIs and apps with code for iOS 14 won't be approved until official release.

Ahh, okay. Still, it's something to look forward to.

I really look forward, also, to 3rd party homepage widgets. It's going to be interesting to see what developers are going to create.

Last year we had 8 betas and then the 9th aka the GM. Looking at the calendar, that means we don’t get anything this week. Assuming this is a skip week, it would mean GM Sept 8th which is the speculated date for the iPhone event. So using last years schedule as a baseline, I don’t see us getting an updates this week.

All makes sense and if things stay logical this year should be right. But ...............

The biggest question is whether the iPhone event is pushed back 2-3 weeks or not. That is certainly a possibility. If so, it may be another beta or 2 before we start getting weekly betas.

with the number of bugs in iOS 13.0 maybe just maybe Apple will release more frequent betas of iOS 14.0.;)

Doubtful. Beta software doesn't work that way. Apple won't release more/fewer betas, more/less frequently based on the number of bugs or issues. Their schedule is pretty much set prior to the start of the beta cycle. The only variation from that predetermined schedule would be the discovery of a major issue (bricking devices, etc), which would necessitate an additional emergency release.

You saw the leak that it might be Sept 8 for the show?

I had not, no. But even if it is, that doesn’t necessarily mean the release date will be 10 days later like usual. Hope it is, but there are a lot of reasons why it might not be.

One could argue B4 this week because „in theory“ B1 equals 13B2 due to 3 week WWDC delay.

I'm not seeing that being a thing, because then why wasn't B3 a week earlier for that reason?

Will see in about 32 hours, I guess.

From beta 3 to 4 it will still be 2 weeks and from 4 to 5 another 2 weeks and then from beta 5 weekly updates that’s going from past experiences

It would be nice if they added new wallpapers and a faster CPU in the next beta
