Are we seriously taking the time to address someone who’s asking why people are looking forward to moving past Beta *ONE* of a major iOS release?

Dude you of all people are going to be the first one constantly complaining about every single beta release. You literally prove my point

when is the next release!!!
when is the next release!!

OMG I hate this release!

Exactly. Which is why I’ll always be looking forward to the next, potentially better beta version of each release.

I don’t even know what you’re talking about at this point. Your initial question seemed to be “why are people looking forward to the next beta when this current beta is stable?”

Like I said, this beta is quite stable considering that it’s the very first one. That said, there are still lots of bugs and problems. Betas improve and get better and more polished with each new version. It’s not like this beta version of iOS 14 is anywhere near ready for a public release.

You’re basically asking “why would anyone want an iPhone 12 when the iPhone 4 still works fine?”

Not sure which OS you've been using but I've been watching iOS 13 stagnate and even get worse in some respects throughout the last year.

When was the last time there was an actual public release that was ready for public release?

lol I love that you changed my words where convenient for you.... my exact quote was "why are people SO ANXIOUS for the next update..... Not looking forward. I was specifically talking about those who are overly anxious and disappointed with each passing day that there isn't a beta... funny enough those are usually the first ones that complain about bugs in the new beta.

and your correlation with iPhones is so way off and asinine I won't even address it I'll let you think about it and figure that out on your own,

Good lord. Alright, I’m done with this.

Hopefully you get an answer to your question. Best of luck.

I don’t understand what you’re asking.

People are anxious for Beta 2 so we can see what’s been patched, fixed, and changed. That’s all.
I’m not asking you anything. ? I’m telling you, it is usually a couple of weeks before beta 2.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to quote you. I’m fully aware that there’s always a two-week gap between betas.

Treat the gap between betas as at most a rough rule of thumb. I believe in iOS 11 we had a 3 week gap at one point. And last year we had 2 betas in 3 days.

Apple generally has a release cadence, but it is a most a cadence and not a hard and fast rule.

Because of the virus, nothing is the same as normal and pretty much anything could happen. WWDC was 3 weeks later than normal and there’s a good chance iPhones won’t get introduced until October or maybe even November. Will that impact the release date of iOS 14? Count on it. How will it impact it? We have no idea.

With all that, saying things like “Apple normally does X” really goes out the window. Things may be on a normal pace or, don’t be surprised if something completely off the wall occurs.

Absolutely.

That said, I’m guessing we see Beta 2 early next week.

A week after beta 2 releases you mean.
well..typically...but sure. Public beta WON'T be released until Developer Beta 2 is released, so I can imagine folks waiting for the public beta can't wait for DB2 for that reason.

I stopped getting the developer betas back when public betas started since my team was doing the actual app developing not me. But I still get anxious every year for that first public beta (and I don't even have apps to check on anymore!) ;)

No. If the pattern of past years holds, it will be 2 days later.
The first public beta for iOS 13 was released on June 24th 2019, a week after the second developer beta (same build, June 17th 2019).

How about you post evidence to your pattern claims? I've been rocking / following every Beta for over 10 years and can't remember any release, since they introduced PBs, that had the first PB show up shortly after a developer beta. It was usually always a week (if not longer for the first few releases) after a developer beta.
