A proper do not disturb schedule (on/off multiple times in a day) and also an option to remove the 3D Touch thingy. It takes slightly longer to hold an app icon and make it wiggle to delete, long enough that it's super annoying.

Right now, the biggest thing for me would be default apps. I use a few non-native apps that I'd like to set as default. Also, it's a big ask I continually get from the C-Suite at work, and it'd be nice to get them to shut up for a bit. :)

I know it sounds silly, but I'd really like to see an option (similar to that in iPadOS) to set a 5-column springboard and dock.

Surprised he stopped kissing up to Apple long enough to offer a critique.

Delete stock apps.

I don’t want to put them in a folder if I’m never going to use them.

  • the ability to select a key photo in a photo album to make it the album cover. This dragging and dropping a photo to be the first photo for the album cover is lame and throws of the chron-order
  • the ability to sort your playlist by song name. Having to do this through iTunes then right-clicking on the playlist to "copy to order" is really stupid. I should be able to auto-sort by playlists just like I do in iTunes by now.
  • default apps. At least for maps, browser, and email.
  • iOS 12 like stability and polish. I'm not sure what the hell happened, but iOS 13 is a mess.
  • do something about phone calls taking up the whole screen
  • the ability to take raw photos in the default camera app. iOS and A14 should be intelligent enough to output the proper file depending where I sent it (ie convert the raw to heic/jpeg depending on if I send via iMessage, email, or social media, etc.
  • honestly, move all machine learning to the cloud. Each device shouldn't have to do this everytime I get a new device. Have it done in the cloud like Google does. Don't give me that crap about privacy because this can be done with privacy in mind.

Well, in iOS 13 we finally got Dark Mode, a redesigned Volume HUD, Memoji Stickers (everyone loves those), Sidecar for the iPad (this may count as a Catalina change), and Announce messages with Siri, just to name a few.

What are your wishes for iOS 14? A few of mine are,
  • The iPhone X UI brought to older devices. (similar to what they did for the iPad).
  • Split screen multitasking for the iPhone, probably only on Plus and Max devices.
  • Bringing back Peek and Pop for 3D Touch supported phones.
  • And finally, an incoming phone call gives you a banner notification instead of using up all your screen.
That's just my small list, leave what you'd like in the comments below.

I'd really like Siri to answer my phone calls like Google does. Perhaps it'll help separate the spam callers from the legit callers. I do not answer my phone anymore because of these damn spam calls. If Siri could screen my calls, I'd take back every bad thing I've said about Siri.

iOS 12 was basically ironing out the bugs from iOS 11. Perhaps iOS 14 will be focusing on bug fixes as well. Gee I hope the mail app is fixed before then!

iOS:
- PIP
- spit screen Multitasking
- astrophotography
- picture profiles (standard, natural, vivid) and ability to set noise reduction: pictures are currently way too saturated, aggressively de-noised, and over-sharpened, for my tastes.

iPadOS, one important feature plus a lot of refinement
- Time Machine
- Polished multitasking
- Better mouse support (option to set scrolling direction and speed, traditional cursor shape, gestures support for apple devices)
- better keyboard support (including APIs for game developers, shortcuts to enter/exit slide over/split screen

Siri call screening would be pretty cool, if Apple could figure out how to do that and keep it all private that’d be great.

I’m thinking that’s what iOS 14 will be as well, I hope this doesn’t turn into a regular pattern for Apple.

Time Machine in iPadOS, interesting. I do agree it should definitely be there though.

Anyone think default app selection will ever make its way over to iOS? It’s the only thing I miss from android and jailbreaking is almost pointless for me these days.

cmon apple!

Photos: The ability to set custom albums show the images in order from newest to oldest (like the Favorites album does now).

I have multiple albums with 500-2000 photos in each so it's incredibly frustrating to scroll all the way to the bottom of the custom album to view the newest pics first (which is what I always want). Also the scroller tab is way too small to use and I can never catch it on the first try.

Remember you can also tap the top bar to go to the top and tap the buttons on the bottom bar to go to the bottom of the album. If your in an album press the albums button. If your in photos press photos button.

No scrolling and no scroll bar required!

Oh thanks for the tip! Never had an idea these functions exist. These must be the least intuitive gestures in iOS so far haha

I'd like in the maps app - for directions a choice of advanced/limited directions. I don't need - take exit in 2 miles, take exit in 200 feet, take exit - just telling me to take exit 15 is enough.

The ability to be able to lock certain photo albums that are user created - and the photos that are put in that album would be automatically locked in the photo roll and blurred out. The process to unlock it would be through faceid; which is the same method as with my bank app (and man, I wish the Mac computers would have faceid, but that's not what this thread is about).

And that Night shift would act in a similar manner as Flux; meaning that Night shift wouldn't automatically turn on at 9 pm but would act upon where your location is in the world.

I would also really love the ability to have a countdown app inside the default calendar app.

And that the default keyboard should have a row of numbers above the letters

(and I have no idea of what I wrote has been implemented into ios13 because I'm not going to download that sorry excuse for an operating system on my iPhone).

No 2020 scheduled release of IOS14 in combination with iPhone 11s PRO. Lets fix and optimize IOS13 so it gets on par with or better than IOS12 (bug wise). Let IOS 14 be released when it’s ready - not when it’s october.

Getting IOS 13 to that level will likely take at least a year - what a bug fest.....

iOS 13 urgently needs to provide the option for phone calls to stop hijacking the entire screen!!
Between this and not being able to skip the next instance of an alarm, does Google have some persistent patent on these things??? It is able to recognize a holiday and warn me to fix my alarm, but why doesn't it just let me skip it instead of modifying and possibly forgetting to reenable and being late for work the next Thursday???
