Came from pixel 2 to IPhone 11 recently and I am already missing the two favorite features from my earlier phone which are Offline surrounding Song detection and Always on display.

Top 5:
  1. Camera: manual controls
  2. Photos: Shared iCloud Photo Library
  3. Phone: STIR/SHAKEN
  4. Settings: delete individual app data without having to reinstall the app (deleting built-in app does not clear data)
  5. Settings: allow third party app to become the default app
yah apple is never going to implement camera manual control, moment is your best option for that

basically everything like android already at least customization wise

Why is my iPhone not showing if it’s charging or not when it’s shutdown.

I'd like to have the ability to delete "groups" in health not just all or one by one. For instance I'd like to delete April 2019 - today I have to do each day - or delete all the data which I don't want to do

When in split-screen mode and resizing window size: Stop blurring the windows.

My short wish list:
  1. Keep improving the Files App
  2. Keep improving the Share Sheet
  3. Let me (the device’s owner) decide what apps I can delete; especially the “Health” app 😖😤🤬
These are all key technologies that make an iPad (or big iPhone) a laptop replacement.

Keep safe,
Peter

My very short wish list:

Default app option
Move away from centralised settings menu and have settings in the individual apps
Phone calls show in a swipable banner

That’d do me just fine!

I love a Concept Video, me

Though I predict almost none of whats shown here will actually be included in iOS14.

Unfortunately it will take Apple probably another 10 years to implement some of that stuff when seeing how slow they are putting big and semi-big features in iOS with each version.

What would be your proposal? Keep in mind that somehow the app needs to enter another display format state, and blurring that process is visually nice.

My personal wish (which never comes true): Two iOS 14 Versions.

One called iOS 14 Full with the full lineup of iOS and maybe a better battery life. And one called iOS 14 Lite with basic features of iOS (Calls, Text, Calendar, Notes, Mail) and without all the other iOS Stuff like iCloud, Siri etc.

Wait...why should someone take Lite then?

Well, maybe to have a simple, lightweight iOS with basic functions? I mean, let get to the current iOS Size (between 6-8GB), i've turned off a lot of features and uninstalled native apps- it's still about the same size. So basically I assume that those things are deactivated but always there. And also I assume a Light version could be less buggy, comsume less battery and data?

It's just a thought so. But even on Android you're able to install other Android Versions- and Apple isn't event capable to allow a downgrade. So my thought was, maybe having two versions and let the consumer decide what he/she really needs and wants.

Or, let's make it more simple: during setup let the user decide what to install and get rid of all the data junk afterwards. Of course this could mean, you need to be online to re-install your phone later.

I get the gist of it, you were saying earlier that the Full version would get better battery life too. I didn‘t understand this.

Well I get your point, but Apple loves the „it just works“ mantra. And normal users shouldn‘t have to decide if they want feature 67 or 123 activated or not. All they know later on is „this or this does not work“ and blame Apple. So I kinda understand why it‘s one version for all :)

@MandiMac Sorry, i didn't intend to confuse you, english is just my second language. Overall the whole iOS 14 should be less battery consumpting in my opinion. I'll had my first "Smartphone" from Nokia using Symbian and I honestly liked the battery lifetime ;-)

I just assume that a lighter operating system is maybe easier to handle for engineers, developers and even allows a better battery life. Of couse, I love the "it just works" mantra, but lately I don't get the feeling from apple anymore. I would love to see that apple is maybe providing more choice and less "you need to use features".

Don't get me wrong, I just hope to see that iOS 14 is maybe the operating system, where apple get's back to its core values and don't stuff it with more and more features- instead having their awesome developers developing rock solid iOS. And from my idea (i'm not a dev) you develop a solid basis and allow to add features to it. Like in old-time Windows, when I was able to decide between a custom, minimal or full installation.

But, the fairy tale will be the same: Tim will be OnStage, telling us how great and beautiful the new iOS will be and what features we might need.

macOS like external display support.
And scaling for more screen real estate

Yep. I mentioned this in a different thread (re: XCode on the iPad), it's essential for iPadOS to support native - or - proper ratio scaled, on external displays. Particularly if it's going to be used for "UI dense" applications like XCode. I setup our 12.9 iPP with a magic KB and TP, and an external, 25" display, and it wasn't bad, but there was so much display space wasted on the external - same config, but native 1920x1080 as a second display, and the wife using it as a laptop replacement is getting really close.

Hi 👋 for IPhone I suggest that you add a window or an icon you can still doing stuff on your phone while you’re watching YouTube.

1) Ability to BLOCK ALL AUTOPLAY. If that's somehow too hard then the option to outright disable embedded video would work too. Some of us who live with sub 3rd world network connectivity and severely limited data caps would appreciate it.
2) Loads of other things predominately to do with network functionality and file management - list would be too long. Network management at least on par with a 2007 era Nokia Symbian phone rather than the almost nothing that iOS has now would be nice.

Hmm, I guess I haven't given this much thought as you have... I would say even just allowing limited third party apps to be default apps, like browsers, email, and music apps, would be a step in the right direction. I do agree with you though, if any apps should go away, it's the iTunes store, but if so, then there needs to be a store tab within the TV and Music apps with there respective content for us to buy and/or rent, as I prefer to buy my music rather than stream. I'm also intrigued by your suggestion of the Safari bar, maybe we could use a better way to access the download manager, share sheet, and so forth. I also feel that smart notifications and do not disturb for specific days, not just time, would both be welcomed additions as well. I feel that iOS 13 was more of a visual refinement than anything. Things just look better and they flow from one app to another more. This is what I love about iOS, it looks more sophisticated and refined than Android's visual design. Now Apple has to put more effort into features within their stock apps. Reminders had a much needed redesign last time which makes it feel like a new app (still could be more robust though), but many of their stock apps seem to have gotten pushed to the side.

Don’t know if this has been said, but, customizable random passwords with keychain. Sometimes the suggested password will not work with the websites password creation criteria.

Also Silence unknown voice mails they should add that in to IOS 14 so we don’t have to hear those unwanted voicemails from the scammers.
