- Set default app.
- Set aspect ration in the camera app. Apple keeps touting how good it's optics are. For better or worse, people are increasingly relying on their phone as their primary camera. And people sill print pictures, with 4X6 being the most popular format. Being able to set aspect ration results in not having to crop a bunch of picture prior to printing, and potentially losing part of the picture.

iPadOS wishlist

* Multiple user accounts.
* horizontal split screen (not just vertical)

That’s it for me actually. The horizontal came up when I was trying to watch YouTube and view a document at the same time. The vertical split kind of ruined it. Portrait mode iPad with vertical split screen??? Ouch.
Submitted to Apple ?

I doubt it given apple’s serious push towards Apple Music and now they demote iTunes Store when you make a fresh install of iOS 13. It feels like they want to ditch iTunes Store within a few weeks or so, even though they may not.

I wonder my self when Apple will remove iTunes? I mean if you buy new iPhone or iPad it comes with iTunes.

If you update the OS you get iTunes. If Apple is doing away with iTunes why are they still shipping it with IOS and iPadOS?

Import music from Files to Music. I don’t get all my music from the iTunes Store and Apple Music, so I’d like to download an album in Safari and import it from there.

You could do it on your laptop or desktop computer than connect iPad to get it on your iPad.

With that being said, I want a feature to just delete website data without clearing history. All desktop browsers can do this. Why iOS can’t?

not sure what you mean here.

Apple nowadays ship “Apple Music” app, not “iTunes” app. Though iTunes Store is still there for now.

iOS 13 urgently needs to provide the option for phone calls to stop hijacking the entire screen!!
Probably four more years since we finally got shrinkage of the volume HUD.

Oh please no. I am gonna be pissed when I have to authenticate more than 3 times in average when I use my iPhone on my bed or with weird angles.
This could be nice if you could enable on a per app basis.

Definitely want the shutdown spinner back, especially since it takes much longer to shutdown since around when iOS13 launched. Sometimes it can take 30s before I can turn my iPhone back on.

Can we get some faster file transfer speed on iPadOS and a god damn hell indicator telling the progress? I don’t want to wait 1 hour to realise a 100MB file never got transferred. Cloud storage isn’t everything. Cut your network and good luck connecting to your “iCloud Drive” by any means.

This maybe a unpopular opinion but I do not want it released until it is 100 percent ready.

I think the beta system needs a major redo, no public betas for the first 4 cycles, get it pretty good then go public with the betas. Basically let developer programmers look and find the problems. Then 2 week cycle for public, weekly for developers. Yes the public reports are important but I bet they get a lot of bs reports that waste time. Then release a Pre release version 2 weeks before the GM version. This would be for both developers and public. For 2 weeks find and report everything. Get it polished and debugged. Then release the GM. One last week to fix anything. Then release it to the general public. And every release needs to be consistent with times and dates.

No repeats of 12 or 13. Both sucked and had way too many issues that should have never been in the final version released.

Just my opinion.... don’t hate.

I think you meant iOS 11 and 13, iOS 12 was pretty good from the beginning. But yeah, I agree with you, operating systems should be released in a more stable stage. Sadly, they need the new iOS ready to ship with the new iPhone each year.

iOS 12 beta 1 is a close second for worst first-beta experience I had behind iOS 9 beta 1, which made my iPhone 6 Plus so hot under light usage that I had to put it in the fridge on multiple occasions just to keep it from overheating. Nasty iMessage issues plagued the early iOS 12 betas for me.

For what it’s worth, you can change the aspect ratio already, but the 6:4 (or 3:2) ratio you mentioned is not available. So presumably the feature you want is that option, not ability to select a ratio, which is already available.

Appreciate your opinion and not hating, but what purpose do you think is served by NOT sharing a public beta per the current schedule?

I'm assuming you have some thoughts on how this somehow screws up or slows progress on corrections or identification of bugs?

Nope. iPhone 8 running 13.5 Only choices are Photo and Square.

$1,000 device touted for it's camera and my choices are undefined aspect ratio and 70's Instamatic.

So your iOS 14 wish is that they backport and extend a feature to iPhone 8? Fair enough. Wasn’t clear in your original post.
iPhone 8 is not a $1,000 device btw, not even when new.

I would like to be able to stop my home screen looking like a fisher price kids phone, so customisation including the ability to have smaller icons, place them where I want (let me wrap them from the bottom not the top)

Otherwise I'd quite like the following:

- Always on Display (they want to sell me a watch so that will never happen)
- Have the mail app return the inbox after deleting a message
- Long press for symbols on the keyboard
- Default apps
- Support for better Bluetooth codecs than AAC
- Allow a photo to be deleted locally from my phone but stay in my iCloud library.
- Updated Apple Music UI - I'd like them to make the icons smaller so I can see more of my music when browsing
- Not iOS but to let me merge my legacy iTunes account with my iCloud one. Managing this is infuriating! I'd even take a one-time transfer all purchases

A few things I would like for the home screen. When you press an app, have a new choice to create folder. Such a freaking pain to be trying to move around apps and just happen to hover near another for an instant too soon, and an unwanted folder is created. If you just pick rearrange, no folders would be created that way anymore. That would also solve the problem of trying to avoid the app on the edge so you can move one there and accidently switching screens. Also, if you are moving into a folder and are done, the done button needs to be available within folders instead of having to go out, and then tap done.

They should at least have a setting for where to go when you delete an email like most others I've used. It's almost always previous, next or Inbox. And any improvements to Music UI would be welcomed.

You know, this moment will never happen, “100% ready”.

Aside from that, I don’t know how many people inside Apple actually uses their dev build iOS every now and then, but replacing internal human tester with people outside of dev team is not a good move imo.

The more people who test a beta or any software the more problems should be found so they can be fixed.
Why the "general" public would want to run beta software on something they need every day is strange.

Two things:

PiP for any service, please. Let me decide if I want to PiP it.

This may be controversial, but:

Gimme an app-drawer like on Android. Let me have just the apps I want on my home screen, and the rest out of sight. And no, folders is not enough.

I would never want to use it if I had a work phone, but I've been betaing for a long time, and the worst I ever had happen is the ATV remote crapped out in CC and the app, and the remote was eaten by the couch, so I had no way to use ATV. But at least it forced me to find the actual remote finally.

It's a software setting. Allowing 3:2 aspect in a photo is not exactly rocket science. They can do it because I have the choice now of 2.

Yeah, no I agree tbh, what I mean is, newer devices have a new camera UI (which the 8 doesn’t get for example), which has an explicit ratio setting with three options. Like you I’d also like to see a 3:2 option, I just think this feature, if implemented, would only go into the new camera UI and not backported to iPhone 8 unfortunately. I don’t really know why the new UI isn’t in older devices!
