Restore resets the storage properly but the fix fails as time goes by with storage changes. I think you should check again.

It’s been solid since beta 3 when I did the restore. Been checking intermittently since. All updates since then have been IPSW might I add.

Hello, i have iPhone X still on 14.8.
Who updated iPhone X from iOS 14 to 15.1 RC? It"s now "the time " for update, or is bad (slow animations, laggy)

Just wait till next week and catch the official release, no point really putting the RC beta on if you’ve waited this long through the cycle ??

I think, if Apple knows a restore fixes the issue, as it did for me on B3, what do they have to address?

It seems the restore, recalibrates the storage data read out… so how would they incorporate that process into an update… that’s quite a big task in my eyes. But I’m not a dev, so that assumption is based on, if it was that easy, it would of been done in 15.0.2 or we would have seen it in 15.1 RC if the problem is wide spread enough. Something might come in the official public release of 15.1 we haven’t seen yet. Wait and see but a restore is the fix for me and others on here, which might be a nice clean touch using 15.1 official IPSW when it’s out soon ??
In the ios 15 betas, it got corrupted in an ota update, that is, it showed the occupied storage well, and when updating it began with which photos occupied more than the full storage. Restore and it seems to be solved, but when restoring by ipsw to ios 15 final, the problem returned again. I have experienced it both by updating by ota and by restoring from 0. I believe that these problems will be a direct inheritance of the problems that ios 14 had in showing the space occupied by others, which when it wanted to show 0kb.

On iOS 15 Siri is no longer able to correctly identify room names. For instance ‘June’s Bedroom’ won’t be identified properly anymore. It might come up a selection of all rooms in the house, a few select rooms with a similar name or turn every device on or off (yes, seriously)

As for HomePods on audioOS 15, they’ve gained some kind of hearing loss with not being able to hear me or misinterpret what I’ve told it. It also takes longer to respond and sometimes will give you a “One moment”, “Just a sec…” and just fail. It has generally gotten dumber in every single way. 14.8 on my HomePods did not present this issue and worked flawlessly.

Siri has also gotten slower with HomeKit on my Apple Watch on watchOS 8 compared to previous updates. Before it was almost instantaneous in voice recognition to action. Now it takes anywhere from 5 seconds to 15 seconds with “Request sent” or “One moment…” tapping the device in question on HomeKit is instantaneous with controlling the device in question.

I don’t have any issues with Siri on my Apple TV, she identifies everything correctly and is very fast at toggling devices. Only my phone is on the 15.1 RC which continues to present the issue. I’ve tried the Apple TV on WiFi and Ethernet to see if it’s my network, same behaviour.

Have I lost the plot? I decided to make a forum post to see if others had issues or just me.

Oh good, it’s not me. It’s Apple.

Apple is really trying to demonstrate to me that they don’t care about Siri, HomeKit or HomePods.

I’ve got 8 rooms set up, most with just 1 homepod, some stereo pairs, couple of Apple TV’s, Hue lights in all rooms, with Hue lamps as well, some strip lights and couple outdoor lights, and not seeing any of the issues you’ve listed and all running the current public available build. There were issues for me prior to iOS 15 with Siri not responding, audio on stereo pairs randomly stopping in 1 of the pairs, and some other issues And all no longer happening. Asking Siri to do things is better than it was.

How is the battery during use over the day? I’m on iP12 too and on 15.0.2 it drains like hell.

15 betas, was a little up and down, but nothing drastic or majorly noticeable.

15.1 been solid all the way through. 5hrs on screen time, from one charge in 24hrs with 40/50% battery left when I charge again.

I don’t do a noticeable amount of social media. My main usage is safari and talking A LOT on here, maps, WhatsApp, DELTA portfolio for crypto charts and trading view. (I’m not a trader, it’s a hobbie)

IP12

8 rooms, well that’s just greedy ?
Your house sounds like an Apple show room. Love it!

“Hey siri” - 8 rooms reply and just keep talking to each other all day. Lights going on/off, heating goes up and down, all kinds of music just on everywhere
(Comedy sketch)

Battery, now it’s settled, solid too iP12.
Look at that over night ??
Very nice battery stats !!!!! I had two things using my battery overnight that was causing about a 4 percent drain I turned one off completely and seeing if the other one was because the first one was active …hope to get a flat line tomorrow night .. but even 4 percent drain for 6 hours is not bad

And then one day @Ansath walks in through the front door and hears in a creepy way; (x8) “Hello Ansath. Welcome …. Home.”

Well this makes things more difficult. Thanks for double checking. If some do and some don't, what's the difference? These are taken a couple days apart, iPhone SE (2nd Gen) and I can assure you I didn't delete 10GB in that time. My experience has been it will continue to fall until it reports 0KB.

With 17 full charges in a day though ??
:) I take them off the charger between 5 and 6am and put them back on around 10pm and never even look at the remaining charge. It’s never been less than 40-50% so I just don’t bother. I see all these hysterical posts about that location arrow and have never figured out what the deal is. Mine is always on with no battery impact.

Subjective right, depends what app is using that location. Someone might have a badly designed app. If an app goes runaway on that location gps, you can see big drains until an update is release for the app.

But yours sounds solid. Awesome! ??

Hello everyone! :)

I kindly ask for your advice regarding my situation with the touch screen issue on iPhone X and iOS 15.

I was using iPhone 7 updated to the iOS 15. Recently, I have decided to test out how does turn out FaceID in use and bought a used iPhone X with iOS 14 installed. Based on the previous owner's information, the iPhone on iOS 14 was working with no issues.

For successful restore backup from iCloud, I need to upgrade iPhone X to iOS 15 also.

Intermittently, when I want to unlock the iPhone, the touch randomly stops working. I have tried to bypass the lock screen with a double back tap but the touch issue persists. Hard reset sometimes does help, sometimes it doesn't and the touch is still not working. Nevertheless, after a while, the touch is working back again.

I experience this behavior usually in the evenings. I also noticed it has something to do with phone in the pocket affects this touch issue.

What have I tried so far:

• Full Reset & Erase (no restore from backup)

• Full Reset Reset & Erase via iTunes (no restore from backup)

• Update to iOS 15.0.2 + Reset & Erase via iTunes IPSW (no restore from backup)

• Update to iOS 15.1 beta 4 + Reset & Erase via iTunes IPSW (no restore from backup)

• Update to iOS 15.1 RC + Reset & Erase via iTunes IPSW (no restore from backup)

Unfortunately, the downgrade to iOS 14 is not possible anymore.
I understand it could be hardware or software-related. Should I wait on the iOS 15.1 release firstly or get the device inspected right away?

Thank you for your advice, any information would be helpful.

There was an issue with the display drivers on the X/XS that caused this problem. Unfortunately Apple will only replace the display for three years after the original purchase date so if your X was purchased in November or December 2018 or sooner take it to Apple. If it's older, not sure if you want to pay for a display replacement as that's the only fix.

iPadOS revised RC build 19B75 but not sure if it’s warrant a new thread though. Waiting to see if there is a separate release notes
Do you know yet if the build is available on iphone as well? Sure sounds like a minor RC2 build to me.
