I don't think Siri with HomePods and my phone being completely pathetic at managing my home devices is a 'minor issue'
That’s not something that was listed in the post I quoted. So, not very classy of you to misrepresent my post to apply to your issue, which I hadn’t commented on to say if I think your issue was minor or not.

What’s your Siri with HomePods & phone issue? As It’s been flawless with me. In fact iOS 15 fixed a massive issue I was having with the stereo HomePod Mini pair randomly dropping audio from one of them, whether I was streaming or natively playing it, and now it’s not dropped at all, since I got on iOS 15 beta 2.

In the threads, I think I’ve only seen 1 person have an issue with HomePods & Siri, but that’s an AudioOS issue, and this thread is about iOS….

I really wonder if the reports that Apple people send even read them. Because the storage bug is still present after such a long time, I honestly think it is incredible.
From what I have observed, its seeming possible there are 2 variations of the issue, as many people saying this fixed it for them, but some are saying still affected. From what I have seen, the ones I‘ve seen that are still affected seem to be ones that had been on beta at some point, and ones not affected hadn’t, but I might have missed some posts that disprove that.

For absolute transparency and fairness here, actually yes it was. You replied to my post and in that post I mentioned Siri/HomePod/HomeKit responsiveness as one of my many ongoing issues.

It wasn’t clear that his comment about HomePod and yours were the same, hard to be sure as neither have detailed, so apologies if they are the same issue.

still, I’ve only seen 1 other person have any HomePod issue, and HomePod uses AudioOS, not iOS, meaning they will be under a different team of developers & again, probably not a high priority on the scheme of things.

I’m not saying they don’t need to be fixed, far from it. Just being realistic.

I think, if Apple knows a restore fixes the issue, as it did for me on B3, what do they have to address?

It seems the restore, recalibrates the storage data read out… so how would they incorporate that process into an update… that’s quite a big task in my eyes. But I’m not a dev, so that assumption is based on, if it was that easy, it would of been done in 15.0.2 or we would have seen it in 15.1 RC if the problem is wide spread enough. Something might come in the official public release of 15.1 we haven’t seen yet. Wait and see but a restore is the fix for me and others on here, which might be a nice clean touch using 15.1 official IPSW when it’s out soon 👍🏼

I’ve never touched beta but I have the bug which shows Zero KB used. Had it since 15 first came out and here we are at .2

I also have never had a beta installed but have the storage bug. I restored using IPSW both 15 and 15.0.2, both times the fix was temporary.

Post 126. I explain how to restore using IPSW and it fixes the storage bug.
Restore resets the storage properly but the fix fails as time goes by with storage changes. I think you should check again.

Hello, i have iPhone X still on 14.8.
Who updated iPhone X from iOS 14 to 15.1 RC? It"s now "the time " for update, or is bad (slow animations, laggy)

I updated to iOS15 when it was released and it's has performed no differently than 14.8.. I had minor bugs on 14.8 and there are minor bugs on 15.0.2 (at least this is on my particular device). I always update using iTunes and never OTA not sure if that helps you in your decision

On a X w/ 15.0.2 and updated OTA. No real issues to report.

Anyone having cellular issues? My 13 Pro Max keeps dropping cellular. I can watch it at my desk, 2-3 bars.. then nothing for a few minutes. I was out of the office today and it was happening then as well. Reset network settings, rebooted several times. (Once I saw pink screen on reboot)

In the threads, I think I’ve only seen 1 person have an issue with HomePods & Siri, but that’s an AudioOS issue, and this thread is about iOS….
On iOS 15 Siri is no longer able to correctly identify room names. For instance ‘June’s Bedroom’ won’t be identified properly anymore. It might come up a selection of all rooms in the house, a few select rooms with a similar name or turn every device on or off (yes, seriously)

As for HomePods on audioOS 15, they’ve gained some kind of hearing loss with not being able to hear me or misinterpret what I’ve told it. It also takes longer to respond and sometimes will give you a “One moment”, “Just a sec…” and just fail. It has generally gotten dumber in every single way. 14.8 on my HomePods did not present this issue and worked flawlessly.

Siri has also gotten slower with HomeKit on my Apple Watch on watchOS 8 compared to previous updates. Before it was almost instantaneous in voice recognition to action. Now it takes anywhere from 5 seconds to 15 seconds with “Request sent” or “One moment…” tapping the device in question on HomeKit is instantaneous with controlling the device in question.

I don’t have any issues with Siri on my Apple TV, she identifies everything correctly and is very fast at toggling devices. Only my phone is on the 15.1 RC which continues to present the issue. I’ve tried the Apple TV on WiFi and Ethernet to see if it’s my network, same behaviour.

Have I lost the plot? I decided to make a forum post to see if others had issues or just me.

Thread 'HomePod noticeably slower after iOS 15'
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/homepod-noticeably-slower-after-ios-15.2316610/

Oh good, it’s not me. It’s Apple.

Apple is really trying to demonstrate to me that they don’t care about Siri, HomeKit or HomePods.

Have I lost the plot because I’m pretty sure he mentioned Siri/HomePod and HomeKit.

But yeah, sure. It’s not very ‘classy’ of me.
