:) I take them off the charger between 5 and 6am and put them back on around 10pm and never even look at the remaining charge. It’s never been less than 40-50% so I just don’t bother. I see all these hysterical posts about that location arrow and have never figured out what the deal is. Mine is always on with no battery impact.
My usage pattern is almost the same as yours. I get up at 5am every morning for work, take the iPhone off the charger and go to work, then it goes on when I go to bed at 10pm and charges overnight. I have most of my location stuff off though.

It wasn’t clear that his comment about HomePod and yours were the same, hard to be sure as neither have detailed, so apologies if they are the same issue.

still, I’ve only seen 1 other person have any HomePod issue, and HomePod uses AudioOS, not iOS, meaning they will be under a different team of developers & again, probably not a high priority on the scheme of things.
Hmmm. I'm having a HomePod-related issue. Periodically (like once a day if not plugged in) my outgoing 11 Pro suddenly drops to ~4% battery with Home app 100% battery looking like the culprit. When I tried to delete the Home app, I get a message: To delete Home app first remove any HomePods from your Home configuration.

Very strange.

There was an issue with the display drivers on the X/XS that caused this problem. Unfortunately Apple will only replace the display for three years after the original purchase date so if your X was purchased in November or December 2018 or sooner take it to Apple. If it's older, not sure if you want to pay for a display replacement as that's the only fix.
Thank you for your quick reply. I have contacted support and will see what happens.

The thing that bothers me is the phone was working flawlessly in the hands of the previous owner. It was 100% assured to me. Still, it is hard to understand the issue showing up later after 2/3 years of using the phone and not from the start.

Concur with others about HomePod. Siri usually does nothing on the first request now; was not a problem a month ago. Voice recognition *seems* worse on 15, though this is anecdotal.

Updated 2 days ago from 14.8, iPhone 11. Thus far I have yet to see any show stopping bugs, in order to see anything wrong with 15.1 I’d have to look very hard. Everything is on par with 14.8. Battery life is a little worse but nothing major.

Edit: DFU restored via iTunes and set up as new

Hello everyone! :)

I kindly ask for your advice regarding my situation with the touch screen issue on iPhone X and iOS 15.

I was using iPhone 7 updated to the iOS 15. Recently, I have decided to test out how does turn out FaceID in use and bought a used iPhone X with iOS 14 installed. Based on the previous owner's information, the iPhone on iOS 14 was working with no issues.

For successful restore backup from iCloud, I need to upgrade iPhone X to iOS 15 also.

Intermittently, when I want to unlock the iPhone, the touch randomly stops working. I have tried to bypass the lock screen with a double back tap but the touch issue persists. Hard reset sometimes does help, sometimes it doesn't and the touch is still not working. Nevertheless, after a while, the touch is working back again.

I experience this behavior usually in the evenings. I also noticed it has something to do with phone in the pocket affects this touch issue.

What have I tried so far:

• Full Reset & Erase (no restore from backup)

• Full Reset Reset & Erase via iTunes (no restore from backup)

• Update to iOS 15.0.2 + Reset & Erase via iTunes IPSW (no restore from backup)

• Update to iOS 15.1 beta 4 + Reset & Erase via iTunes IPSW (no restore from backup)

• Update to iOS 15.1 RC + Reset & Erase via iTunes IPSW (no restore from backup)

Unfortunately, the downgrade to iOS 14 is not possible anymore.
I understand it could be hardware or software-related. Should I wait on the iOS 15.1 release firstly or get the device inspected right away?

Thank you for your advice, any information would be helpful.
I have the same touch sensitivity issue with my new Mini. I press an up or down volume switch on the side just once. Works every time. Still, it's annoying. Hoping for an iOS 15.x fix soon.

Does this build fix the issue where the notification center has notifications overlapping or huge spacing between each other? Sometimes tapping on grouped notifications don't work, or tapping grouped ones would just open the first notification it's showing.

Well all the steps you took seems to remove software from the equation but I'd say if the release of 15.1 next week doesn't fix the issue, you may of just been unlucky with the timing. Either that or possibly whoever sold it to you didn't notice or didn't think it was a problem. Usually the touch issue starts randomly and then gets worse over time but it doesn't happen suddenly..

In my case with 15.1rc on my HomePods Siri is right up to snuff, especially with the stereo pair of the OG's where with music playing away, and them off behind my iMac, just a whisper one time and it does lights, or locks the front door etc.
My HomePod mini in the bedroom though does seem to have a harder time to hear a command. Surprises me as it is a quieter Environment compared to the area with the full size HomePods. Those things seem to hear from behind walls and around corners without issue or needing anything as loud as a normal speaking voice.
I'd have to add that Siri is working better than ever for me, it has even answered questions of unit conversion as an example that stumped my Alexa Studio.
Only problem I've also had limited to the mini is that when it does hear a command like goodnight, spoken in a low voice, it will still on occasion answer at a loud volume something like "ok setting the scene". In settings it is toggled to not respond out of range of commands issued. The big HomePods never have done this.

Folks, just got my iPhone 13 Pro Max. My iPhone 12 Pro Max has the 15.1 beta. In order to be able to do the migration, do I need to install the profile on 13 and install the 15.1 first in order to be able to retrieve the iCloud backup from the 12?

Actually, I was giving it a try since I was anxious to have it done and… it worked! The iPhone is on 15.0.1 and accepted the 15.1 back normally!
[update] at the end of the config process it asked to install 15.1 beta to complete configuration. I didn’t need to install the profile though.

Your update section is very interesting. Did it do this so you could access the backup or was it just recognizing that you are a beta user and suggest that just to be nice?

great question..!!! That would be interesting if it knew they were a beta user and automatically installed profile and the 15.1 RC going to the new phone

The latter. I thought the 15.1 backup worked on 15.0.1 because it went through the process of the Apple Pay setup, asking for cards CVV, etc - but then, it asked If I wanted to go further with that backup restore, I needed to upgrade it to the 15.1 beta. Nice one from Apple.

That’s exactly what happened - it detected it was a 15.1 beta backup, detected I’m a beta tester and then went through the download and installing without asking me for a profile. When the restore finished, the beta profile was exactly where it was supposed to be.

you can restore a backup of ios 15.1 to ios 15.0.2 or earlier, but only from itunes, ie local ones. There is a file inside the copy, which is responsible for telling the program in which version of ios the copy is made, you simply edit it and put the version of ios in which you want to restore and you can restore the copy without any problem. I have been doing this for years when I leave the betas before the official launch or down from one version of ios to another due to some error. with the copy of icloud if you have to have the same version of ios to be able to restore

I always thought, If your back up was made in 15.1 say, if you tried to restore on a lower iOS than that, it wouldn’t let you select it? (Greyed out.)

So you had to upgrade your software to match the iOS the back up was made on… or has that all changed now? ?
I have tried this in iOS 14 and said must upgrade to newer iOS to use this backup but apparently it works now in iOS 15 you don’t need to worry it will update you to match the backup automatically and if its a beta actually put the beta profile on your new phone ……..??
