I am on the first Public Beta of iPad OS 15. Working off of the new M1 12.9” iPad Pro.

Noticed a lot of instances where loading webpages gets bottlenecked whether on WiFi or with an Ethernet connection (with WiFi turned off). Complete slowdown on loading websites. Not constant, but constant enough.

Has anyone noticed website loading issues with this beta? I want to make certain this is software related issue and not with my brand-new iPad purchase.

Yes I’ve had that issue several times today. I am on a 2018 11 inch iPad Pro, so it’s not your new iPad.

Anyone know how to see all square tabs on the iPad like you can on iPhone when you hit the 2 squares in the bottom on the iPhone?. Seems like the iPad doesn’t have that view to where you can see all your open tabs all at once and have scroll at the top instead. I’m hoping it’s a bug
Pinch (zoom out) with two fingers on any page and it’ll move you into tab view. Discovered that a couple of days ago. (Also works on iPhone).

Could this be Private Relay slowing down the connection?

Is anyone else iPad Siri shortcut suggestion widget mirroring your iPhone instead of your iPad? 🤦‍♂️🤔😂

Stupid thing is telling me to send a message on my iPad when I have iMessage turned off on my iPad. 🤦‍♂️😂

Is apple taking the piss out of us?

Why on earth would I need to see a drop down banner with a tick when opening a app via the Siri suggestions widget 🤦‍♂️

for a company that has a great eye for detail, this is the most stupidest and hideous thing i’ve seen so far. 😂🤦‍♂️

The collapsed Safari bar does not adapt the dark mode coloring when your phone is in dark mode (it keeps the white UI). The floating bar properly adapts to dark mode coloring.

I’m seeing this on some sites but not on others. It’s still black here on the forums.

Maybe it’s considering it an actual shortcut? But I agree, it’s pretty ugly.

Well , optimized charging seems to finally be working consistently. Either that or it’s related to my new Belkin mag safe charger.

It‘s whiteish here even though the webpage has the dark theme set.
So I just manually set the forum to dark mode and the bar stayed that white color. Then I turned on dark mode on my phone and the bar turned dark with it. It’s fine when the forum is set to auto and my phone turns on dark mode though.

Or not… My experimenting messed something up so now the dark bar stays up on light mode and light bar on dark mode. 😅 Will try to close fully out of Safari and see if that fixes it. Or a reboot.

edit: swiping Safari closed and reopening fixed this 👍🏻

Probably to let you know that the Shortcut executed. Darn sight better than the "Allow Shortcuts to access [something]" dialog that seems to come up with every shortcut I run these days!

Could this be Private Relay slowing down the connection?

I just turned PRIVATE RELAY off and for the moment I see an improvement.

Do you think that could have been the cause of the slowdown?

I guess I’ll know in the next hour as I continue to browse but that is an important point you brought up and I appreciate it. Let’s see if it helps.

ATTENTION

Sorry about bringing attention to this post, but I have to thank @TimFL1 for his response above to an issue I thought I would let all of you know (if you don’t know already) during this beta stage.

I am on PB1 and Safari on my iPad would just crawl when going from website to website. I could not understand what the problem was. Tim suggested turning off PRIVATE RELAY (which I enacted at setup) and that was indeed the issue.

If anyone is experiencing website slowdowns and has PRIVATE RELAY activated, that is indeed the issue.

I really hope Apple works on improving this service so that it doesn’t create these slowdowns. We are in beta, I know.

Is this beta getting progressively worse for anyone else?

- My battery life has plummeted from the toilet to the sewer system. The phone is almost always running hot.
- Messages will now crash after being left alone for a few minutes. The app will be unresponsive; if you close it and attempt to reopen, it's just a black screen. The only fix is to reboot.

I haven't noticed it on my iPhone 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max. My 12 Pro Max was running hot constantly on the iOS 14.7 Beta's, but now seems to have calmed down on iOS 15, surprisingly. No issues with Messages either...so far.

"so far" is exactly right. I didn't experience these problems for the first few days with this updated beta 2.
