I didn’t misread anything. I’m saying filling that empty useless space with buttons is not a waste of space. Having a floating bar with a heavy drop shadow that obscures stuff behind it is a perfect example of wasted space. I don’t see how it makes it “feel” cramped, when you’re scrolling and actually reading content then that stuff disappears anyways. There was no issue with the previous design or the current design in terms of feeling cramped when reading content. And when not reading content you get an array of useful buttons instead of just jamming everything behind a “…” button. Beta 1-5 was terrible design.

I don’t see anyone using their phone one handed. It’s too cumbersome and makes it easier to drop. What do you need your other hand for anyways? Using a phone takes your attention away from whatever else you’d use your hand for.
Your arguments make no sense at all. Just cuz you can’t use your iPhone one handed you assume that’s how everyone uses theirs. It’s a phone for crying out loud not a Samsung Note. It’s designed to be used with one hand.
I use my iPhone to browse content while I hold my beer in my other hand. I’d be wasting a lot of time if I had to do one thing after the other.

You obviously are ignoring what I say, and banging on about something I didn’t actually say. Lol.

Also, with the one handed thing, just cos you don’t do it, or don’t see a point in it, doesn’t mean others don’t do it.

Your posts are very self centred, and arrogant, as who would dare do something that you disagree with.

you have the option to keep the address bar at the top, which is what you obviously want. You have no need to come here and tell us our opinions about the other option are not valid cos it differs to yours, which is how your posts are sounding.

there are many people in this thread, that have posted that the B5 version of the bottom bar is just better looking than the B6 version. The only issue was with the bookmarks & share buttons. Also people are posting they also use the phone one handed. So it’s not as dead as you claimed.

I’ve always used my phones one handed, all the time. Even the Pro Max series. The only time I’m going two handed is for typing.

At least most of the time I don’t use one. They hurt my fingers for some reason so I’m not a huge fan.

Lol. I'm not a fan of the pop sockets and barely use the Max size one handed. I prefer the regular Pro size. I can use this size one handed except for typing.

I'd be buying the mini in an instant if it had the same battery life as the Pro though.

Anyone else have an issue where it’s telling me I have an AppleCare+ billing issue after update? It’s saying to link my account and when it tries to use Face ID is works, then it doesn’t. It’s weird. I can’t get it to work, and I’m afraid now of losing my applecare+. Haha

Mine is showing fine in settings. I've had issues with showing me the wrong status on earlier 14 betas but the payments were still processed and it fixed itself eventually.

Overall impression ….

12 ProMax
Am seeing less initial bugs.
Seems slower when switching screens and on launch.
WiFi is good but am having trouble connecting to 5G. Keeps dropping back to LTE
Auto Mail refresh on Mail App launch is not working

IPP 11 2020
Much smoother. Even the transition from home screen to app library is no longer jerky
Still seeing Safari crashes. 2 so far today
Still seeing issues when connected to Magic Keyboard - the lower right on screen keyboard swap covers screen objects

Apple Watch 4 Nike GPS - not beta - not getting Messenger notifications.

Air Pods Pro - not beta - On one device with APP and unlock second device. If audio is on both the APP swap back and forth occassionally. pita.

See how it goes after a day and a hard reboot.

and yes, spell check still sucks.

Same with the 5g issue. Only getting LTE right now and I have decent 5G in my area usually. I’m with T-Mobile. LTE and Wi-Fi is fine but can’t get 5G. I don’t think modem changed in this beta.

Edit. Just reset all network settings and 5G Is back and looks like it’s staying connected.

The bottom bar is perfect now. They had to give it a background because the floater was breaking websites with fixed bottom content.
This was my biggest problem with the pre-b6 Safari UI — that damned floating bar would frequently pop up right in front of something I was trying to tap because the page content could flow around and below it and not get bumped up to compensate when the bar appeared. Replacing the floating bar with standard controls that no longer display content around or below them eliminates that issue.

(My second-biggest problem with iOS Safari pre-b6 was putting the Bookmarks button in the top-left corner, opposite from and only accessible by tapping said hated floating address bar.)

Strongly agree with both points.

Love the bottom safari bar in this beta.
