What's the point of a new beta for apple this week if the event is next week? You think apple can make all those new iPhones within 2 weeks?
Agreed. Beta 8 minus the "a" is what's being loaded onto iPhones being produced now. Any minor updates will go into 15.0.1, which will launch on the same day of the new iPhones or shortly thereafter.

I would assume b8 still has all of the logging and stuff enabled. Maybe something like 19A54 or something.
They can OTA debugging / logging options and even remotely push a delta patch that „turns your Beta 8 into final“. It‘s how it always works when a beta build ends up as the final release.
I have weird app update in AppStore. I dont install any „Microsoft start”.

Had me scratching my head too, turns out it‘s Microsoft rebranding their „News“ app…

Event announced for 14th, which means RC will come after the event.

No beta 9 coming, as it would be pointless. Also, the RC will have been approved internally already, to be loaded on the new phones.
What still prevents release of beta 9 today

One key difference with tvOS (and, as a result, HomePod) is that it does not have a hard stop to flash it onto new hardware (unless there is a very big surprise coming that nobody in rumor land has sniffed out). That team is going to have a little more flexibility with the schedule as a result.

This!
And that’s why there won’t be a beta 9 of iOS. 19A340 is the build we are getting as RC and final release (and the build that is on the iPhone 13 ready to be shipped) - the same build as beta 8 but without the beta logging etc.

Hoping they will fix many issues still remaining...although they may be issues with developers...especially with CarPlay.
