iOS 15 Speculation Thread

Bugs are the way of life. We’ve had GMs in the past with shocking bugs, they still went ahead. Beta 8 is quite smooth for a final beta.

you cannot have a beta 9 when they’ve got the RC signed off internally to load on the new phones. The next beta will be 15.1 beta 1.

There shouldn’t be a beta 9 not much has changed since iOS 14 so don’t need that many betas it’s such a minor update lol

There are still plenty of bugs. Apps do weird crap. I have had to restart Facebook I don’t know how many times because the X in a full-screen picture didn’t want to work and YouTube I’ll find myself tapping a video ten+ times before it works (and the screen is indicating that the video is being selected, it’s just not playing)… those are the most annoying ones for me which my iPad running 14.7 doesn’t suffer from but memory management has been hit or miss again, Safari likes to lose page content when I’m on a site with Disqus embedded like PCGamer, and there are weird little lags here and there.

It’s not the worst it’s ever been but it’s far from where it should be.

What you are complaining about seem to be apps not updated properly to work with iOS 15.

We will see. In the past similar issues have existed after the updates dropped and weren’t resolved until somewhere in the next beta cycle.

Devs will update their apps after the RC is released, as that’s when Apple start accepting update using the iOS 15 SDK. Some developers take longer. Feedback to them about their apps not working.

iOS itself always has some bugs, doesn’t mean they won’t release iOS 15.0 as is. We’ve had significantly worse.

I'd say it will be iOS/iPadOS 15.0 RC1/GM and not BETA9. I suppose it all depends on the release window of the new phones. Might be that COVID-19 and chip shortages are causing some slight delays so it will be a slight delay between the September 14th iPhone 13 announcement and the release of the new phones. If not I can't see any reason why we would receive BETA9 and not RC/GM. We might get a iOS/iPadOS 15.1 BETA1, it's been a while now since Share Play, App Privacy Report etc was officially delayed meaning Apple has most likely been rolling out 15.1 builds where these features are being worked on interally for quite some time now. Having a developer beta drop is not entirely out of the question.

Bad carrier… and you’ve still had fun 😆😂

Yeah been a blast. Had some very laugh out loud moments, been called a 🐍, got married, the island nearly caught fire on our honeymoon, figured out the WiFi outages was the wife turning the router off before bed, you guys cracking me up and tidying up the tea I’ve spat across the room because of that, some heated moments, A LOT of big ZOL moments 😆😂

And learnt a lot along the way. Bonus! It’s really nice to see a name now and have built a personality around that. It’s a great community on here, your all so different but bring such a unique flavour to the table. I hate you.

How come people still don't understand this?
1. Apps not working fine are normal during beta periods. They need to be updated after new iOS is released.
2. Even OS bugs are inevitable. They are part of software development. What apple strive to do is minimize those bugs as many as they can before release.
3. Bugs are never a factor determining the release schedule. Their hardware is! This is especially true in recent years.

Oh it’s understood. It’s just unacceptable considering how stagnant the OS has gotten.

All I want is home bar gone for good 🤦‍♂🤬 Let us change the camera and torch buttons on Lock Screen 🤦‍♂️🙄 interactive widgets 🤗 they’re pretty much blown up apps at the moment. 🤦‍♂️
