Never understood why they gave a huge bump in Maps in Lisbon, Portugal instead of all of USA first.

USA was first and they had to go back to do imagery again in many places is my guess. They figured it out by the time they started mapping other countries.

They also claimed they are releasing detailed street markings in the US by the end of the year, but we’ll see if that actually happens.

Those detailed street markings are quite impressive in NYC.

I believe it is. Locking the door behind them. There are other reasons, of course, for doing this. But it usually is a precursor to a new release.
Wasn't this door locking only for the 12 & 13 series. Since they were placed on iOS 15.1.1? Everything else can still access 15.1 if i'm not mistaken. Most likely a beta today and the RC shortly after (next week) like last year around this time.

Of course it is a “precursor” as there will always be a new release at some point. But it doesn’t mean that it will be today or next week at all.

Is that so? I mean, did they stop signing 15.1 completely or just for 12&13 phones? Wouldn‘t be the first time they completely killed the current stable release bricking anyone from reinstalling their device though.

They didn't stop it completely for all devices. Tt's only for the iPhone 12 & iPhone 13 according to the dev portal. All other devices including iPads can still access 15.1

I’d say 15.2 will be released in the next 7-8 days. 15.3 by mid to late January and 15.4 to coincide with an iPad event in late March.

Wow, that´s a lot more precise!. Yeah, I´m gonna go with your prediction here.
