Mark Gurman even said in his newsletter which came out at the weekend the event was still scheduled for the 8th. If there are no invites tomorrow then it’s either been pushed or we will just see press releases. At least that way Apple can still get the products out the door, just without the flashy event.

If the latest 15.4 beta is the supposed RC then it will probably come within the next two weeks.

Gurman amongst other things I’ve read on tinternet. Pure speculation though until invites are received. Probs tomorrow.
Ahh I missed Gurman saying that. Work has me ragged, so not as on the ball. Mind you, he’s been wrong before. Tho could have been moved with what’s going on in the world

easily could just go with press releases the updated rumored products for the event are pretty minor in scale anyway

Can’t see them having a press release for the M2 MacBook Air, they’ll want to market the crap out of it during the event. ??

public the following week
no new hardware because of what is going on in the world right now

Have we had a RC before when there is new hardware due? I'm assuming they will want to prevent more leaks.

Don't forget that hardware announced at an event often isn't actually available for purchase until the following week (or later) — I would expect the RC to post immediately after the event is over, and final release the following week.

Recent examples:
  • MacBook Pro M1 Pro/Max, AirPods (3rd gen): Announced 10/18/21, released 10/26/21
  • iPhones 13, iPad (9th gen), iPad mini (3rd gen): Announced 9/14/21, released 9/24/21
  • M1 iMacs, M1 iPad Pro: Announced 4/20/21, released 5/21/21 (orderable 4/30)
That last example is worth considering, as there was more than a month between announcement and actual availability — supply chain constraints are no better now than they were at the same time last year, and might actually be worse for some components.
