I've been doing this for some years now, too. Around Spring I stay on a stable 'good' performing build and enjoy the start of Summer with a great working phone and then BOOM! beta 1 drops and the rest of the Summer I'm wondering if it's worth it to downgrade ??? #jokes

I’m going to start a self help clinic, wanna join? But all electronic devices are banned and you must have your thumbs restrained with elastic bands during the session.

Random thought: Gurman said 15.5 would be out at or near WWDC. However the first 15.5 beta has not been released and WWDC has not yet been announced. Might these 2 things be related? Hmmm...?

I don't think iOS 15.5 will be released at the iOS 16 launch. It will be sooner, leaving the servers free and ready for the high demand that iOS 16 beta 1 will have. In addition, if they release beta 1 of iOS 15.5 this week, it will be almost two months of beta process, too long for a version that I don't think brings anything important or new.

I'd say the chance of a 15.5 beta 1 today just jumped to about 80%
The one thing with that is I can't imagine what they'd throw in there. If I'm not mistaken, we now have everything iOS 15 was supposed to come with (assuming of course you live in an area of availability...ID's in Arizona, for example). Unless Apple has some surprise "extras" in mind, I have a feeling everything between now and the first iOS 16 beta will just be bug fixes and stability...which are updates we HAVE seen betas for in the past, but also other times that we haven't.

I doubt there will be much. But, recall, 15.3 was more or less a bug fixing release, so having 15.5 serve the same function would not be terribly surprising.

Plus, there could be fixes or updates to Shortcuts (that happens in most releases) or the other first party apps.

So, yeah, nothing earth shattering but some good quality of life improvements perhaps.

However we may see 15.4.5 instead as no major features are being added. Most likely bug fixes.
