IIRC iOS 15.3 beta 1 launched on a Friday, although this was also the update that had leaked earlier in the week so maybe Apple felt they needed to get it out.

I have it from a good source ios 15.5 beta 1 tomorrow. It will include universal control and closure of all outstanding bugs.
Um...Universal Control is in 15.4. In fact, I typed this sentence on my iPad keyboard into a window on my M1 MBP.
On iphone. It is a beta joke, a better RC will be conveyed tomorrow.

I've been doing this for some years now, too. Around Spring I stay on a stable 'good' performing build and enjoy the start of Summer with a great working phone and then BOOM! beta 1 drops and the rest of the Summer I'm wondering if it's worth it to downgrade 😆🤣🥰 #jokes
It’d be swell if something dropped today but yeah I feel like it’ll most likely be earlier next week.
That’s where my money is, as well. But Apple has done odder things recently. We’ve always assumed that they don’t drop betas on Friday due to the lack of personnel in over the weekend to fix any serious errors. Now, with many working from home, they just walk over to their Macs to address issues, so that may not be the reason (if it ever was).
Writing this post made me think of all the things we here take as the truth, but really have no idea if they are true or not.
Some examples:
-The aforementioned Friday beta release aversion on Apple’s part. (Maybe they don’t release on Friday because they are all at one of their Beer Bashes)
-Phones run hot/are sluggish following a beta due to indexing
-Whether there is any difference between an OTA install and an IPSW install (Craig referred to seeing differences as confirmation bias)
I’m sure there are others that I’ve neglected to include…
