It's here! RC is out woo hoo!!!
Thank you, Apple!
Thank you, Apple!
I think there's a good chance we see 15.6 after the 'official' release of 16, which won't be until September or so. I don't see 15.5 lasting 4 months.Would 15.5 be the final major update for iOS 15 or do we think we'll see a 15.6 before iOS 16 rolls around?
I have the same exact question. I have a feeling iOS 15.5 might be the final major update before we see iOS 16 beta 1. But it's hard to say because there could be minor updates roll out.Would 15.5 be the final major update for iOS 15 or do we think we'll see a 15.6 before iOS 16 rolls around?
It's only referred to as the RC on the developer portal; because it's a release candidate rather than a beta, it is the same build that will ultimately be released to the public (presuming there's no RC 2, anyway), and is presented the same way that the final release will be.
Recent history suggests that there could be at least one more 15.x update before (or in parallel with) iOS 16.0 — the 14.7 beta cycle started on May 20th and ran in parallel with the iOS 15.0 betas, and 14.8 was released about a week and a half before the 15.0 public release. Is iOS 15.5 is the final update before iOS 16.0 beta 1 is out next month?
Somebody must told Kane about the 15.5 release. Look what he is doing!!Well knock me sideways.
Look forward to this when I get home after the game. Come on you Spurs.

So we are 22 days from WWDC and iOS 16 b1. I say we see 15.5 public release by Tuesday(Wednesday if they need to release a RC2 first).
I do now think we’ll see a 15.6 beta ahead of WWDC, if only so they can get some decent data in before we all skedaddle to iOS 16. So look for 15.6 b1 on Wednesday/Thursday.
I think an RC2 will pop up, hope, to sort out the call drops. Surely they can’t release 15.5 to the public with an issue like that for some devices. That would be a media SS 💩.
I think this must be a carrier specific issue. No problems in Spain with several carriers.
Perhaps there is no need to an RC2. Perhaps the final version is a new build, or perhaps updating the carrier data alone will do the trick.
That's not how companies work at all, lol.I’d like to believe Apple will pull its best coders and developers to work on 16 while the guys that can’t code their way out of a paper bag can keep working on ironing out the persistent bugs in 15 along with the security fixes.
(Did I do that right?) 15.5 runs beautifully over here. Roll on 15.5.1!
My guess is later on in the weekA set release day for today would be very nice. Come on, Apple let's get this out of the way. Release the update to the public already. My fingers are crossed.
