I now think that we might see a visual cleanup of the OS in iOS 15, to make it more in line with macOS 11/ 12, and I am hoping that this makes it leaner and nimbler as well.

Battery calibration for all devices would be helpful. Especially for people on/off betas.

Could help see better battery health. Always a worry seeing it drop 2 % just during the iOS 14.6 beta cycle.

Wallpaper color-matched theme implemented systemwide... like Android 12, it looks nice and gives a personal touch to everyone's iPhone depending on your wallpaper.
It would look good but I don’t know if I would like it on my Apple product. I like the minimalism and „boring“ look of the iOS UI

Well, it could be an option and one can turn it off.
I like Apple's minimal design but once in a while I wish I could tweak it a little bit for a few days so that it doesn't feel boring.. it only makes you appreciate the simplicity of the minimalistic design when you try a different one.

I also like that Apple doesn’t give too many customization options, for example I really dislike the possibility to change the App icons. I just like the way how Apple districts things.

If you don't like then you don't have to use it.
It's an option for those who want to try out a little customization while still using Apple's iOS and not switching to Android.
The screenshots form Android 12 with wallpaper color-matched theme looks nice though real world usage maybe different. Depending on how people like this feature on Android, Apple could very well adopt it in future iOS versions.
And there is always an option not to enable it and use the default iOS experience.

Apple desperately needs to take Video Playback back under control.

If you pick 50 different apps whose primary purpose is video playback, you'll find 50 different playback user interfaces, and none of them are doing anything special or remarkable.

Apple needs to take the best from all of them, and make 1 Video Playback UI, with enough options for developers to meet their needs. And then require them to use it instead of making their own.

We don't need 50 different takes on the play button.

This is the list of things I desire and want for iOS 15:

1 - This will never happen, but I would really like a setting that allows me to manage how applications are in the background. I hate having to be in the application, otherwise if I go out a loading stops, or the application reloads and I lose everything I was doing after only a minute. It is not possible and this is ridiculous, such a powerful device really cannot handle two or three applications at the same time? It is clearly a limitation imposed by the system, I wish I could at least decide how certain things are handled. Working with the iPhone is frustrating for this very reason. I get angry that these devices are able to manage Gameplay smoothly and then if I'm writing an email and in the meantime I would like to send a document, if I don't do it quickly, the applications reload.

2 - Possibility of setting a completely black Dark Mode and letting users choose between the current one and the new one. For those who have OLED screens it is absurd to see that bad gray in the settings, for example, I would like to have the opportunity to have a really dark version.

3 - Possibility to choose the colors of the Display and the contrasts to your taste. Currently the filters that exist are really limited and not very useful, I would like more customization from this point of view. Why the hell not to let me choose how I want to display the colors and contrasts of my device?

4 - A quick toggle to activate and deactivate GPS from the control center. Are we really in 2021 and we have to ask for a simple check to do such a trivial thing?

5 - I would like the Widgets to be resized to my liking, and above all that they are usable. For example, it is useless to have the Widget of a browser if I cannot interact. Current widgets are just plain useless links, in my opinion.

6 - We know that in the latest models the 3D Touch has been removed, well, I loved the speed of that touch. Since they put this alternative that simulates 3D touch, that's okay, but could they speed up the animation? So it would be almost identical, as it is, it's quite frustrating.

7 - It is not the thing I want most, if there will be I appreciate it, but I would like a slight graphic restyling of the icons, I would not mind if they were in the Big Sur style, for example.

8 - Last thing, I would like to have the ability to delete and clear the cache in applications. Currently to do this you have to hope that the applications allow it, or delete and install again. I hate doing this and I would like a feature implemented to speed up this process.

These are the things that I really want and that would make iOS much more complete, in my opinion. But yes, I'm fantasizing, I know ?.
From that list, I think number 5 and 7 are the most probable to happen. I really wish Apple realized that the “new“ widgets are actually worse than the previous ones. I could use a Widget to activate toggles and interact without triggering the whole app, but on the new widgets that’s impossible. It‘s just an informative pane, it is less useful for many purposes. And yeah, regarding point number 7, I think they are adopting a new, less flat style with the icons.

Also, your point number 8 could be really handy with apps that tend to grow in size because potatoes

I will share my list of new features on the following days, but I think we can rest assured that A9 devices won’t be supported by the new operating system, and Apple will take full advantage of the efficiency cores for specific tasks.

Totally agree on the widgets. The iOS 8 widgets had variable sizing and interactivity. Why they decided to remake them years later with less functionality I don't really understand. Even if they bring them up to par with iOS 15 developers may be reluctant to redo their widgets once again so soon. Similar sentiment for the limited iPad implementation where they can't be placed on the home screen.

Hope to see a synchronized Notification system. Would be nice if iOS would synchronize all notification settings via iCloud. For example if I delete a notification on my iPhone it also should be deleted on my iPad

Yes, big time. Yes. It is crazy to think how they have not yet done it and are getting away with it.
