iOS 17.1 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

It seems 17.1 has actually made my random warm-ups/heat-ups worse.

17.0.2 it would occasionally get warmer than expecting, but 17.1 it got what I would describe as hot under some very basic situations. It was actually super cool on the charger this morning but only a few minutes after unplugging without even using it, it reached levels I usually only experience while gaming.

I don't really use AM, so I'm just going back to 17.0.2 for now.

You can’t restore. It’s a bug.

I’ve just got a 14PM on the same software version and experiencing similar issue with sending photos and videos.

It’s taking far longer to send stuff to different people and occasionally getting stuck on ‘preparing’ like WhatsApp, iMessage etc…

Hope this gets fixed asap on next update!

I might have found a fix from a Reddit forum of all places:
'The fix was going into Files and disabled all Files integration to apps (Google Drive, One Drive, etc.) and disconnected all connections to servers (SMB).'

So far this has worked form me...I'll report back if it re-breaks🤞🏻

Did anyone else’s charging optimization stop working after installing 17.1 beta?!?

Oh FFS. First the star ratings and now this? What is it with Apple and taking away useful features? So now all of the music feedback I’ve accumulated has been reset for a second time?

Have you gone into Settings>Notifications and scrolled down to the individual notification settings for your apps?
 
There’s also an issue with search not returning all or older results on iPhone 15 in Messages. Some troubleshooting I’ve done were to turn off all Siri and Search for Messages, power off, power on, and re-enabled them. I also tried to disable iCloud Message sync and enable it again. Anyone experience this?

I’m not sure if I’m imagining things but wasn’t there like a “smart search” added where you could type in objects and it would find relevant photos?

I was trying to find an old picture of a phone in a certain case and when I typed “phone” into search there wasn’t a single result with a phone in it.

Mine has been charging to 100% since 17.1 as well. It held strong at 80% running the public release. If theories are correct and this really is an older build than 17.0.x, I expect the next one to catch up and this be fixed there.

Hoping it comes next week instead of 2 weeks later.

I wasn't on 17.1, but DFU is not working and I had to restore. Can you not download 17.0.2 IPSW, option click update (and point to file) to go back to 17.0.2, then settings, general, transfer or reset phone, erase all content and settings and set up from your iCloud back up? As long as you can get back to 17.0.2, you should be ok.

You might be able to miss out this part 'then settings, general, transfer or reset phone, erase all content and settings and set up from your iCloud back up?'

Unfortunately I’ve seen many new posts on Reddit and tried to help some users on the iOS 16 forum who are also having this issue transferring to iPhone 15. So I believe this is a common iOS 17/maybe iCloud Messages bug
