This is my battery usage since day 1 (17.0.2 > 17.1b1 > 17.1b2)

It doesn't look good right?

I definitely felt the battery drain while using the phone (non-intensive stuffs)

Didn't see this before on iOS 17 until the iOS 17.1 betas. When I open iMessage, a lot of the time the "syncing with iCloud" message at the bottom of the screen. This message will show up during the day even if my phone sync'd and backed up to iCloud overnight.

Yep! Saw that just this morning and it is persistent. It has been “syncing” for the hour and a half since I took it off the charger. Must be a bug.

Also happening on my iPad on this beta. Not happening on my wife’s devices on the general release.

Mine is quite similar.
But I'm not bothered as we are on a beta, so cant expect better battery life really, whilst the software is unfinished.
Interestingly battery life on my M2 iPad Pro is much better on this beta than it had been since 17 was released. My phone has been excellent all along but the iPad was lousy actually.

I noticed this message for the first time yesterday, right after I sent a message.

I'm sure someone (or many someones) will tell me its been there for years!

I’ve only ever seen something similar when activating a new device, or perhaps when a new OS is installed. But that never persists. This is just some display bug as all messages, even past deleted ones are shown.

80% limit is still not working on mine. Been reported on last beta and now answered them back it isn't working. Tried restarts and turning off and on the battery management. Still sails by 80%.

Battery life also isn't the greatest right now, but I think that's to be expected.

I got a reply via Feedback for the Search issue in Messages but I am unable to check as I deleted older messages. Can someone confirm?

Does 17.1 fix the problem where if I use Siri to set a timer, the sound used is the default rather than the sound I set in the clock app?

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/siri-timer-alarm.2403551/?post=32576205#post-32576205
It seems to work for me? Timers made with Siri are using the old Radar sound that's currently selected instead of the new default Radial sound. I tried changing the sound to something else and it changed for Siri as well. Sorry if that's not what you're asking.

so i called att and tmrw would have been my 14 day mark and they almost wouldn't, do it they wanted me to go in the store to do it, i told them 14 days is your policy and i need approval cuz its so close to the 14 days? they finally were able to switch my phone, but its back ordered for about a month

i feel like the first batch of phones there possibly something wrong, just get a new one everyone here can

You aren't returning your iPhone because of being stuck on Beta are you? There's a good chance that final release will be this month. At that point, you just flip your Software Update / Beta Updates to off.

No im returning it cuz its getting hot, for instance, i was on the phone with att, charging at using waze, i couldnt even touch it, either way i figure, it will be enough time for me to see if there something really wrong with the phone since by then it will not be on a beta and test the new one,

if other people are saying theres are not getting even warm, the only things i have thats 3rd party is wayze, my bank, and teams, i dont have tiktok or IG, like theres really nothing on my phone and i restored and not from a back up

Ah gotcha. I hope you figure it out. I loaded up Diablo Immortal on my 15P (17.1B2) and externally connected to a 27" screen. Playing while charging and the phone didn't get hot. A tad warm but that's expected.
