Haven’t you had the recovery loop too?

How did you fix it ?
I did! And if I remember correctly, that's how I got out of it. It was early in the morning and only had a couple cups of coffee.

I hate that I'm so inpatient lol. Just have the heat problem during taking pictures and I'm going to London this weekend and didn't know if apple would release 7.0.3 till Friday so I installed the 17.1 B so maybe that will fix it (because 2 photos take about 2% battery, wouldn't survive a day in London)

And 30 min after updating apple released 17.0.03 :(

damn I'm in the same loop. Can't restore. Any tips???

On my phone I just see a PC and a cable

Come on…there have been over a dozen posts on this topic, including some replying to your earlier posts. Read the thread and then ask questions. Repeatedly asking the same thing over again is not going to change the outcome.

Not directed (solely) at you: if you are not prepared for something like this to happen, you have no business participating in the beta process.

EDIT: I now see that you lost your data. I am sorry to hear that.

So I’ve been running the beta since yesterday (obviously) and have all apps up to date. I feel like the battery life is better and haven’t felt my 15PM overheating, although it was still running a bit warmer at some point today (although defo not as bad as before). Any thoughts anyone?

Btw, as I was writing this reply, Safari crashed. I guess that’s the only issue I have seen so far.

Have you even bothered to read the thread. It’s impossible to downgrade.

I lost my data.

Do you have an encrypted back up or just a full back up made to your Mac on 17.1?

If so, when iOS 17.1 is officially released, end of Oct, you can then do a restore and your phone will let you use that back up and you’ll get your data back.

EDIT: had a thought, if you have a ios 17.1 beta 2 back up in icloud, and your phones now working on 17.0.3, you could download the 17.1 beta 2 IPSW and do a manual restore to 17.1 beta 2, by holding down the option key, then select the restore button which will allow you to manually selecting that IPSW file.

This will erase your phone, install ios 17.1 b2, and then, give you the option to restore your icloud back up from 17.1. Definitely worth a shot to get your data back. The problem was before downgrading and not having the back up to go with the ios. If your data is saved under ios17.1, this restore is just like updating your phone ios, and then allowing you to access the back up with all your data.

Worse case this doesn't work and you go back to ios 17.0.3 or stay on 17.1.
Best case, you get your data back and you tough it out in the 17.1 beta cycle for a few weeks.

Curious how the data was lost. I purposely put my phone into the Recovery Loop again to try to experience the data loss. Repeated the fix that I provide, data still there.

Does anybody know if the just released IOS 17.1. Beta 2 includes the
fix against overheating released in 17.0.3? Thx for your expertise.
Another question that needs to be answered is, does the 17.1 B2 include the security fix that 17.0.3 provided.

If your on 17.1 and you just want to reinstall the iOS, using the IPSW file, your data is fine - I’ve done this on beta 1 to try and fix my faceID issue. All good! See guide on page 1 at the top.

But, It seems downgrading back to 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 the iOS doesn’t like it. No matter if you’re in DFU or recovery mode.

If you’ve successfully downgraded from 17.1 to 0.1, 0.2, 0.3… then hats off to you and it might be worth posting a clear step by step to help people follow, because there is quite a bit of misinformation recently.
