Does having Xcode installed help on reverting back to the stable release (now 17.0.3)?

Worth a shot, when you run Xcode and connect your device, it could trigger an update required to install the driver. I have an older Mac which doesn’t support the latest Xcode that supports iOS 17 so I install the MobileDevice.pkg instead.

How does mobile device.pkg work? Does it work?

I've tried the downgrade with Xcode 15 and 15.1b. Even with Sonoma 14.1, no go.

Careful using third party tools because it can put you in a recovery loop. Getting out of that isn't fun. Had that experience this morning.

If I set my 15p to DFU mode my Mac register that but every time I want to reset it, I get an error. I can exit DFU mode but can't reset my phone. Any help?
Just so volume up volume down hold the power and you will see iTunes make a noise then let go. You will have to restore with the ipsw. Same thing happen to me last Night.

As of right now, I haven't been successful downgrading. Doesn't mean it isn't possible, but it isn't as straight forward as previous betas.

damn I'm in the same loop. Can't restore. Any tips???

On my phone I just see a PC and a cable

For me it’s just a lesson learned. I’m done if anything I can just return it and get a new one. I signed up for Apple care ++ so I’ll wait a month or 2 the. Get a new one

That's recovery mode. To get out of that, do the Volume Up <release>, Volume Down <release>, and Hold Side Button until you see Apple logo.

Or just live with the betas and be sure to remove your device from Dev/Pub betas in settings. When final code is released, you're good to go.

Just put back into restore mode not dfu mode up volume down hold power for about 10 seconds you’ll hear a chime in iTunes then let go then maybe unplug and plug back in I forgot exactly but I had the same issue

Nope as soon as the apple logo comes it goes back to the Computer and cable logo and on top support.apple.com/iphone/restore

You right. It’s not bad. It really doesn’t get hot just warm. But when I was 17.02 it didn’t even get warm. So just mad at myself that I couldn’t jus be patient

currently downloading the beta version. That was my only option left...
Try what I mentioned previously with the beta version you were running. Recovery loop sucks. Sorry you're experiencing this.
