If someone asked me what the primary function of an iPhone is, my reply would be: to make a call. It’s a phone first, always has been. Its even in the title… iPhone.

Or in this currently very confused world, are we now not associating the iPhone as a phone anymore, some might call it a brick 🤷🏽😆
Only make calls when I absolutely have to. :D

What this thing can make phone calls?? The Phone app itself is one that I very rarely use.

“Primary functions”.

Did you consider that phones with the Dynamic Island are actually NOT designed to be swiped from anywhere at the top?

Primary UX function, which is the primary way you operate your device. Don’t need to be pedantic .

I randomly started having problems with the phone not playing any sound when I watch videos. At first I thought that's instagram but then I found out it's happening everywhere - twitter, snapchat and even photos app.
I just play a video and there's no sound. Unmuting the phone doesn't help, restarting the app helps like 30% of the time and mostly I have to restart the phone.

I’m experiencing this as well (15 PM 17.0.3), specially on Facebook…

Jfc, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect one the primary functions of the phone to work 100% of the time without failure. The phone is designed to be swiped anywhere from the top, except for the right corner, to open Notification Center. It’s not non-standard. And on the 15 Pro Max , the swipe-for-notifications only works reliably if you swipe in the upper left corner of the screen. That’s stupid. And it’s probably going to be a problem forever, just like the stupid square-notifications bug that STILL hasn’t been fixed (and even has a confirmed-as-bug status on feedback now). I understand random small bugs, but not bugs like this that affect the basic functions of the phone 🤪🤪🤪🤪
I’ve never encountered square notifications.

Put iPhone 15P into DFU mode , clicked option and selected the 17.0.3 ipsw. Still can't restore. What do I do wrong? Some people could return to a stable version

Neither have I, and when (if) I do, I'll not lose any sleep over them.
My status icons blink when opening apps that have white backgrounds though. It’s the strangest problem. The dynamic island phones at the Apple Store didn’t experience this, but all non dynamic island phones did. So does my iPhone 12 mini

Any chance of a video to see what exactly happens?

tried several times. still no luck

Edit: finally it worked. There is a blocked pop up message which says the Mac needs to download something to communicate with the iPhone. if you install that it works.

Very weird.

We still don’t seem to have a Favourites playlist in Music but I have noticed if you go to Songs (or Albums, Artists etc) in the sort menu in the top right there is now an option to only view favorited songs. So maybe this is all we will get.

Edit: Watch the signal bars, wifi icon and battery icon in the upper right corner as I open apps. Settings in this video is the only app not affected, but sometimes it is. It's a very strange glitch and I only ever see it on non DI iPhones.

There is a guide on page 1 at the top.

You don’t even need to go into DFU mode. Just plug your phone into a Mac and open finder, hold down the option key, click restore, and then manually select the IPSW file.

But please read the guide beforehand!

Jumped into 17.1 on beta 3 in the hope that it would fix the message search bug on my 14 Pro, but still no luck. What a massive pain and disappointment this is.

I’m having issue with 5ghz WiFi , is it a 160 channel issue or 80 too ? What should I do disable 5ghz ?

I hardly make phone calls and I would be happy if I could uninstall the phone app 😉😂

Does anyone know if they happened to add a Shortcuts function to 17.1 Beta 3 to enable/disable the 80% optimized battery charging limit?
