Hi guys,

Some of you see this « map configuration button on the upper right map main screen » of your cars ?

My 2023 Peugeot car has the instrument cluster screen already showing the Apple Maps directions arrows.
But I can’t see this configuration button they mention in iOS 17.4b4 changelog….

Any help ?

Thanks !
Franck

I dont see map configuration button my 23 Cadillac Lyriq as well.

Things I noticed with 17.4 beta 4 CarPlay is,
-Projection Map screen has more details. Directions are in better position on projection screen Map, compared 17.3
-Projection map screen still has some work to do on User experience and its not refined
-Direction display on guage screen worse than 17.3, I compared with google maps, where it shows lane information, while Apple Maps direction display doesn't have lane information.
-Hopefully it gets better as we get towards RC

I was thinking this was a Beta Issue, too, but apparently it's a Widespread issue..

My wife’s 13 (17.3.1) using a regular sim is connected to the cellular network. My 13PM (17.4b4) using an eSIM is not connecting. This is on AT&T and was working when I went to bed last night.

Same here, my iPhone 14 Pro Max is eSIM, although my 2018 iPad Pro should be working on AT&T, too, and it's not. Even trying to sign into my AT&T account, choosing the option to Text Me the verification code, and I'm not receiving the code on any of my devices (2 Macs, an iPhone, & iPad). Trying to sign into the AT&T app on my iPhone (connected to WiFi) fails, too.

So you already had the beta 4 installed and was working fine? To be honest I didn’t look at the cell signal this morning before I installed the update.

Definitely a carrier issue.

Didn’t mean to hijack this post, just was hoping folks would know it’s not related to any beta issues…

Still having issues with switching audio playback between the MacBook and the iPhone when using AirPods. Most of the times, I have to disconnect the AirPods from the MacBook so that they can properly connect to the iPhone. Otherwise, they don’t even show in the AirPlay sheet.

Or: only the iPhone 15 has the necessary monitoring capability to do this.

Do you honestly think they get any benefit from limiting this to the newest phones? It’s not like this feature is “good” for Apple.
You cannot tell me a powerful last gen iPhone 14 pro max can not run monitoring capabilities for the battery. 🤦‍♂️

I’m not telling you it can’t. I’m telling you it may not have the necessary components to do so or otherwise is limited.

Again, what possible upside is there to Apple in making this available to some customers and not others? No one buys a phone based on this capability, so that’s not it.

Apple has recently announced that an iPhone 15 battery is good for 1000 charge cycles rather than the 500 previously quoted. I suspect the new battery page is there to help promote the message.

When the iPhone SE 2020 came out, you couldn't respond to text messages from the lock screen like you could with literally any other iPhone/iPad. There was no technical reason it couldn't, but it just couldn't. Apple later added it back in with a software update. Maybe this is something similar? They have the feature on the 15's, but perhaps later, they'll update the OS to include other devices.
