This is ALWAYS the case after any update applied! Was also on iOS 16.x.x

Edit: Apple simply ignores your settings applied - cause "they know better"... meaning: Go, buy an Apple watch and shut up!
Doesn’t find my rely on Bluetooth? There really shouldn’t be a need to have Bluetooth off.

I am in the EU and have meore than one browser installed and I don't have the choice of browser setting.
I'm not in the EU, and this setting has existed for many months (i.e. before iOS 17).

Isn’t the RC completely identical to the public release? Assuming the build doesn’t change between now and then of course. According to MacRumors there should be no additional diagnostics, logging or telemetry type services running in the background.
those diagnostics are not part of the OS and will not be flushed out by updating. OS and System Data are held separately
RC is still a beta anyway,

I don't know, but if i have the choice of setting Bluetooth to off, why is my setting not respected?
Probably because people sometimes turn bluetooth off and then forget to turn it on again and it benefits Apple's Find My Network. If everyone had their bluetooth off, the Find My Network would be useless.

RC in most cases is exactly the same build, you can turn off diagnostics and everything just as you can in every released build. In some instances, there is a newer build as the official release as they may find something they need to tweak, but in most cases, it is exactly the same. RC is not a beta, to any extent.

It has been there for a long while and isn’t really advertised as all are based on WebKit.
In the EU they will now start getting browsers that are actual and not forced WebKit designed.

This is the correct answer I believe. Up till now the browser interface for the non-Safari “browsers” was just a skin over WebKit. Now each browser will be able to use its own engine. Could lead to some interesting innovations.

...unless we get RC2 of course. And you can't install RC unless uou have beta updates turned on. Turn off diagnostics by all means but we are supposed to test RC more stringently than ever. Last chance saloon.
The excessive system data (32GB FFS) I was addressing is based on what was gathered whilst testing betas 1 to 4. Going to RC doesn't remove it immediately.
I gave advice how to remove around 25GB in one action. Or leave it to see if it slowly reduces, the advice is optional.

You could effectively restore, wipe or whatever action you recommended with the Release Candidate, it gets you exactly the same result...you don't need to wait for public release as you stated.

If that is what I appeared to advise then my bad. Backup, wipe and restore is basically what I advised member Orystal. Yes any time they like.
I was trying to address why it might be 32GB, maybe beta testing although 32GB is bloody huge, but principally how to get it back to around 6-8 GB.
The RC thing was a bit of a red herring we all jumped on.

For my storage problem the problem had to come from my Apple watch because its battery has been drained. I did an iTunes sync and I fell back to 4go. I didn't install the beta I only install the RCs.

Great. Wherever it came from, at least its cleared now.

Actually, iOS17 very likely is NOT participating in the Find My network anymore already. The network becoming more and more "useless" for months. You can easily proof it if you have a second iPhone with another AppleID (e.g. a friend):

- bind an AirTag to the friends iPhone that is unknown to your iOS17 (not shared)
- turn OFF bluetooth on the friend's iPhone, make sure internet is available
- turn ON bluetooth on your iPhone, make sure internet is available
- go with both phones and the AirTag only to a place without anyone else interfering (e.g. rural)
- watch the position of the AirTag on the friends Find My app: it will never update

Explanation: your iOS17 iPhone is supposed to report the location of the AirTag to Apple's server. Somehow it doesn't. Or it does but the information is not stored on server. Or the server is not sending it back to the Find My app. Choose one. But the point is: the network currently fully depends on iPhones / iPads with older iOS. Thus slowly dying already.

I've been watching (and reporting) this for weeks / months now. And wish people (and Apple) would finally wakeup.

My wife has iOS 17 and she got a notification that AirPods were following her. They’re mine so we were in the same car together.

Yeah, notification of "unknown AirTag is following you" still works, I know. But that's it.
Seems you're well prepared for the real test?!

Anyone’s Today view not loading on the App Store? Tried WiFi and mobile data, the other tabs work fine, only started today.

Since the latest development between Apple and the EU in terms of PWA's (see macrumors article) i guess there will be a second RC to roll-back this functionality.

I was actually gonna ask if this is a server side change or if it requires another update because right now, pages (like MacRumors) only end up as a „bookmark“ to the browser on my Home Screen and not as a web app, hiding the browser bar etc
