And you proved something I was going to try later: propping up the phone against something while on a corded charge.

Yep…working a pinch, but I prefer it looks a little nicer and really don’t need the fast charge my dock provides.

And is used this shot instead of how I normally have it laid out…click on left and my calendar with upcoming meetings on right.

Nice to just swipe though to see other info.

And at night, love the red in the dark and then it goes full dark between 12-6 when I have night mode set. Perfect!

Slider is so much better, especially now that you can slide anywhere on the line and it will work unlike iOS 15 and before that you had to drag a button.
Weirdly, today it’s back to being a slider! Very odd!!!

Maybe there’s some situations it’s buttons, and some it’s a slider, or maybe it’s changing, and I stumbled on it?

In Messages, for the last 5 or 6 years at least, if you clicked into a conversation with a person, and the clicked on their name/photo at the top middle of page, the slide up page/sheet, you could see all the photos, links, and attachments you've exchanged with this person. For years now, if you deleted any of those images, they would return to the same view next time you exited and returned to this view (and they probably continued to take up space on your iCloud).
NOW FINALLY, in iOS17 b1 when you delete them, they're gone! Cannot tell you how happy that makes me.

I like the new design of text messages in CarPlay.

Works fine with my iPhone 11. I don't have a stand or any type of wireless charging, so tested using the stock charger and phone resting against something.

It would work better with an AOD though, and a phone that can unlock via FaceID when in landscape; two things my iPhone 11 lacks.
I heard the screen would go off after some time even on AOD phone. Apple should allow it to be on a whole night. THAT would be a big selling point for AOD iphone.

I like the standby idea but it needs refinement, I was hoping it would just be one screen with all important info. Not gigantic versions of a clock or the date, which looks ridiculous, and then you have to swipe around the screen to see more. If you’re gonna be doing that you might as well just unlock your phone.

Mine goes off, but only because I have sleep focus mode active from midnight to 6 a.m.

I’m not sure it would if I didn’t have sleep focus activated.

Love reading through all the little but useful things in this thread. I think I’m most excited for the autocorrect and keyboard enhancements, stand by mode, and interactive widgets!

I’m taking it very slowly (just installed iPadOS and haven’t decided on iOS yet), but I’ve already noticed the keyboard improvements the most
