Updated kids iPad to iPadOS 17 dev beta, have my phone on ios17 and watch in watch os10. Kids iPad have screen time limited. With ios16 when they request for additional screen time I would usually get a push notification. With iOS 17 additional to push notification now you get a iMessage as well.
You could approve or reject within iMessage. Usually I approve the requests from watch because approving from the phone have to enter screen time passcode. While approving from iMessage it didn’t ask for a screen time passcode.

..and yet we still cannot play multiple audio streams simultaneously. 🤦🏼

Fighting with a website‘s autoplaying videos (even though I have that setting turned off in Accessibility) just so I can listen to some music while surfing the net is very, very old. Any hacks someone knows of? Any ad blocker specifically focused on preventing autoplay?

I find it especially annoying when AirPlay-ing music or podcasts to a speaker device, where I'ɗ like to be able to watch a short video with sound output on the iPhone/iPad itself instead of having it blare out on the speaker and interrupting the music/podcast.

I don’t know, the keyboard seems way dumber to me since installing beta 1. Just making stupid stupid autocorrects.
Interesting. It's definitely better on my iPad. I'll be installing on iOS today, so I suppose we'll see. Honestly, I'm most hoping I'll finally be able to swipe the word "the". No matter what I do, my phone refuses to swipe that word. It's baffling.

It is not, in fact, fixed. So bizarre.

Seeing/having access to voicemail in the “recents” phone list? Been mentioned?

So helpful…and LOVING the live voicemail text…has been working great!

It’s been mentioned a few times over in the big thread. Not hard to miss it with 1100 posts!

I need someone to call me and leave a message so I can check out the live transcription.

So has anyone got any info about app side loading, alternative stores or third party browser engines? There seems to be no sign of any of them yet in B1.
They won’t be in this for release. The deadline is 2024, so likely in 17.2 or even 17.3.

More precisely, the deadline for compliance will be in March 2024. Before that, the EU first will have to designate the affected gatekeepers, which will happen this September. Apple is unlikely to proactively do anything publicly before that. And then they still have six months before they are required to comply. Last but not least, Apple will probably only enable it for devices purchased in the EU.
